Broken Rosary

Broken Rosary
Several months ago I made prayer bead necklace, or Pagan rosary for myself. I wear it almost every day, and pray on it, meditate with it, and use it for quick little mental spells frequently - such as sending good fortune to someone or wishing for protection. This morning while having breakfast in the dining room of a hotel I'm staying at, I briefly touched it to check if the clasp was showing in the front and it snapped. The beads flew everywhere so I had to crawl under the table to try to retrieve them all. I think that I saved most, if not all, of them.

It was unsettling since I consider it my strongest and favorite magical tool, so I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on if there is a special meaning behind a broken rosary. Do you think it's an omen? A message? What kind? Or was it just a freak accident?

The strange thing about it breaking now is that I recently had a conversation with someone about necklaces breaking, another conversation about prayer beads in general, and several people have made a point of commenting on my necklace during the past week or two. So it kind of had all this coincidental attention focused on it before deciding to snap.

I am considering restringing it, or possibly incorporating its beads into a new rosary. However, I read on several forums that the breaking of a Catholic rosary might symbolize that someone is sending you negative thoughts or energy and that it should be ritually disposed of. That got me thinking, so I want to consult my fellow Wiccans before reusing the beads.

Feel free to share any of your thoughts!

A Whole New Baal Game

A Whole New Baal Game

ITEM: The Fourth Kind apparently makes use of Sumerian motifs, bringing a little AAT to the abduction party. Nothing new for hardcore UFOlogists, but as far as I know only The X-Files has fused the two memes. But speaking of Vancouver, a little film somehow escaped my attention last year- it's a Canadian horror epic called Ba'al: The Storm God. Apparently, I didn't miss much. And identifying Ba'al - a title meaning "Lord," and not necessarily a proper name - as a Sumerian god is not a good sign, considering there's a two-thousand year gulf between Sumer and the various Ba'al cults of the Phoenicians and the like.

But taking other people's gods and turning them into demons is a time-honored tradition. Ba'al later became the name of a demon in Christian mythology, as did most of the gods of the ancient world. After all, you can steal a people's land and treasure, murder their women and rape their children, but you haven't truly destroyed a people until you steal their gods. Just ask the Saxons.

ITEM: Art imitates life which imitates art again. We're all supposed to have a hearty chuckle at those New Age flakes in The Men Who Stare at Goats, but lo and behold, the Noetic sciences are alive and well in the military:

Warrior Mind Training is the brainchild of Ernst and two friends, who were teaching meditation and mind-training in California. In 2005, a Marine attended a class in San Diego and suggested expanding onto military bases. Ernst and her colleagues researched the military mindset, consulting with veterans who had practiced meditation on the battlefield and back home. She also delved into the science behind mind training to analyze how meditation tactics could help treat - and maybe even help prevent - post-traumatic stress disorder.

Rooted in the ancient Samurai code of self-discipline, Warrior Mind Training draws on the image of the mythic Japanese fighter, an elite swordsman who honed his battle skills along with his mental precision. The premise? Razor-sharp attention plus razor-sharp marksmanship equals fearsome warrior. I've been keeping my eye on the latest developments in the professional military (read: the mercenary army), wondering when the Supersoldier will finally emerge. This Samurai wrinkle is interesting- I wonder if future recruits will learn the ancient Samurai art of nanshoku.

ITEM: The big movie for the Christmas season is 2012, because nothing rings in the season like genocide and catastrophe. But a post on Mike Bara's Dark Mission blog caught my eye in regards to some of the theorizing on what I like to call "Y2012K"- the research of Andy Lloyd, who believes that Planet X is a brown dwarf star and Nibiru is a moon in its orbit.

I've heard theories to this effect and I think they're pretty interesting. Astronomers gnash their teeth and pull their hair, claiming that such an object would be one of the brightest objects in the sky, but I've also heard some more adventurous astronomers claim that Planet X has much longer than a 3600 year orbit. Anyhow, I recommend taking a look at Bara's post and Lloyd's site. If for no other reason than it will probably manifest itself in our pop culture fairly soon, given how ravenous the appetite for ideas for new CGI blockbusters is.

For my part, it all ties into the secret sun meme, with the Sirius symbology and all the rest of it.

ITEM: I've been watching episodes of True Blood and I'm digging it. It ties into a major theory I've been nursing- the ensemble cast as a precursor to a new kind of cultural polytheism. It's interesting to note that not only did the relentless attacks of AAT parallel the rise of the Religious Right, the revival of movie superhero as savior did as well.

Think about it- Rambo, Terminator, Conan, Batman, Dirty Harry, James Bond- all are based on the ludicrous fantasy that one man can defeat extremely well-armed armies of Other. It was the same mythos that put Ronald Reagan into office. Note how that meme began to wane with the Bush II era and the superhero team and ensemble cast (think Battlestar Galactica) came to the fore. Ironic how a liberal variant of the messiah mythos seems to be dissolving in front of our eyes today.

I'll be writing about it in-depth, but I'm fascinated how True Blood picks up where my lamented Blade: The Series left off. Unlike the feature films, I saw Blade as a nuisance in the series and was a lot more interested in the dynamics in the vampire families (I'm pretty sure the writers were as well).

As with Twilight, the vampires in True Blood are nothing less than superheroes for aspiring goths. True Blood's Erik, Twilight's Edward Cullen and Blade's Marcus Van Sciver are the same exact archetype- the vampire as cultured, vaguely-effete godling and nearly-omnipotent sex object. But even these formidable characters are themselves are beholden to a Byzantine network of councils and figureheads. Fascinating dynamic, there. Strangely enough, there's some monotheist bashing in True Blood, though it's poor, blameless Dionysus that's taking all the lumps. Weird.

More on all of this in the days to come. There's a whole psychosexual component to all of this as well, but that's a bit outside my ballywick. At least for the time being.

Breaking Rules My Zodiacal Magick

Breaking Rules My Zodiacal Magick
As you may know from my previous blog articles, I was too dim to figure out how to work planetary magick in the traditional Golden Dawn manner, so I had to invent something completely different to accomplish that end. Since I had departed quite a bit from the tradition, that left me with a conundrum to figure out - namely, how to work magick using zodiacal elements.

Let's briefly review how I work planetary magick. It's really simple, and it's based on using a septagram trigon. I constructed a rectangular piece of plywood into a talismanic device with a septagram painted on it, and after charging and consecrating it, I would employ it to draw the invoking angles for a specific planet. The septagram talisman is placed in the center of the circle after an inner circle is erected in the magickal circle proper. The actual details of how this is worked can be found in my previous article, which is located here. Using this device, I had the option of using an outer invoking vortex to assist me in invoking just a planetary intelligence, or I could generate an outer element vortex, which would assist me in generating and invoking a talismanic elemental. I could also summon one of the Enochian seniors as well as employ the use of one of the Lunar Mansions.

So using the septagram (instead of the superior hexagram) allowed me to build a magickal repertoire that allowed me to work magick using the seven planets. However, I faced a more difficult task when I attempted to address the problem of working zodiacal magick. Since I had gone so far off of the beaten track, I would have to invent something completely new (or adapt something that was already being used) in order to continue to build my magickal system. I wanted to continue to use some kind of device, but I didn't want to have to use a trigon with a duodecagram painted on it. I just wanted to come with a simple solution, and use what was already being used, although I would have to use it in a manner that might break the rules.

In addition to failing to figure out how to work with the superior hexagram ritual for doing planetary magick, I also couldn't figure out how or even why to use the lesser hexagram ritual, but I was intrigued by the three devices that employed double triangles that were offset from each other. The fourth triangle device of this set was just a hexagram, but the other three were offset with parallel bases, touching apexes and where one triangle was penetrating the base of the other with its point. These three triangle devices were very interesting to me, and possibly useful if I wanted to use them in a manner quite different than what they were used for in the lesser hexagram ritual. Anyway, let's put these three devices aside for a moment and look at what specifically defines an astrological sign.

If I consult the matrix of symbolic elements that define an astrological sign, I will come up with three essential qualities. These qualities consist of the base element, the quadrant house or modality, and the ruling planet. The base element consists of one of the four elements, and that can be easily expressed by the device of the invoking pentagram. The quadrant house or modality are expressed as groupings of three, such as angular, succedent and cadent for the quadrant houses, and cardinal, fixed and mutable for the modality. The ruling planet would be defined by an invoking septagram; but a corresponding device used to define the quadrant house or modality would be the three devices of the lesser hexagram. Applying these triplicities to the three devices of the lesser hexagram that don't form a true hexagram would seem to solve the problem of how to define through a matrix the nature and quality of a sign. Keep in mind that I associate signs with the houses, which is a modern astrological adaptation. So now that we have the three devices, how would they be deployed together to formulate and generate an astrological sign.

For instance: Capricorn would have a base element of Earth, a modality of cardinal (or angular/ascendent), and a ruling planet of Saturn. To invoke Capricorn, you would need to generate the earth element, modality of cardinal and summon the ruling planet of Saturn. This logic would be applied to all twelve of the zodiacal signs.

Now we need to consider what would be required to actually formulate a ritual structure to invoke a zodiacal sign. Since the base element and the lesser hexagram structure should be joined into a single expression, I discovered that a pylon ritual device would work quite well. I would set an invoking pentagram for a specific element to the base of the pylon, and the corresponding lesser hexagram device at the apex. These two points would be drawn together into an elongated invoking spiral, thus creating the ritual device of the pylon. If four of these pylons are set to the four watchtowers and drawn together to form a magick square within a circle, then the outer energy vortex field required for the astrological sign would be established. I would then erect another vortex using the rose ankh device, and set it to the four angles and the ultra-point, drawing them together and fashioning an invoking vortex. Then I could draw a center circle, place within it the septagram talisman device, charge it, and then proceed to invoke the ruling planet. Once these elements are generated and established in the empowered magick circle, I could summon the archangel of the astrological sign.

Being able to establish the astrological matrix of a specific sign is important if other aspects of the zodiac are going to be incorporated into the magickal working. These other aspects would be the astrological decans and their associated spiritual correspondences, and the astrological quinarians, which would allow for the invocation of the 72 ha-Shem angels or the Goetic Demons. As you can see, this combination of elements makes for nice and efficient magickal system, and causes planetary magick and zodiacal magick to be tightly related.

Of course, I was not able to come up with these ideas right away, and in fact, I had to think about it and experiment for awhile before I was able to determine the final form. However, what I did discover is that the system of magick that I had invented seemed to be quite capable of being modified and extended to perform any number of different kinds of operations. I did indeed break some rules, but that only applies to traditional Golden Dawn magick, and I had passed out of that tradition rather early in my attempt to forge a system of magick that was useful and relevant to a witch who was practicing ritual magick.

I recently viewed a few videos on UFOs from a Christian perspective-out of curiosity, as I am not a Christian. Their view is that UFOs are demons or demonic, and the emphasis is on their non-physicality. Now I don't know where this fits into the larger UFO data, but it piques my curiosity about the alien presence being evil, having an evil agenda. I understand that from a Christian view, many believe that if it is not Biblical or about Jesus, it is of the devil.

This approach was not considered or explored in this talk, and I wonder where it fits in. Grant's statement that the aliens could have destroyed or over-powered us long ago if they wanted, but didn't-with the implication that they are not out to get us. A Christian view would be that these demons are not trying to destroy us but deceive and manipulate us for their own ends. Grant does say that the aliens seem to be in control of how the whole phenomenon is unfolding. They are not coming out and revealing themselves, but are doing their own cover-ups. While it seems to me that NDEs often carry the theme of unconditional love, whether or not this is regarded as God, the alien experience, which includes cattle mutilation and abduction, does not strike me as being about love and forgiveness. Of course, it is a vast phenomenon, and there can be a mix of many, many themes going on here. What are we to make of alien deception, when we don't look too kindly on government deception? The idea that ESP and consciousness is a key element in the UFO phenomenon can be considered from the Christian view (and yes, I understand there is no one Christian view!) as quite understandable if it is demonic, that is, involving spirits. Spirits can have have a much greater consciousness than humans, in a certain sense, but this does not make them any the less evil. I am not arguing a point of view here, but rather I want to bring this angle into the discussion or consideration. I think that many Christians believe a portion of the ruling elite in the government is evil, in bed with the demonic UFOs, supposing they have the upper hand, when they are the ones being used.

Remedy For Getting Suitable Job

Remedy For Getting Suitable Job
This is a simple remedy, which can be tried by anyone if he or she is not getting a suitable job or employment; as per their capabilities and qualifications. This Indian paranormal remedy makes the use of Alum; Turti or Fitkari as it is commonly called in India. In many previous posts, I have highlighted the widespread use of Alum in traditional, herbal as well as paranormal remedies.

This post, I would like to add is in response to the requests of many readers of this site who wanted such a simple remedy. So now I will tell you about this remedy - On any Monday, take a medium sized piece of Alum and heat it on a Tawa [iron frying pan, used in India] and then when it cools down and becomes lukewarm, rotate it around you head 7 times in a clockwise manner.

Then after doing the above, throw this piece of Alum in a body of dirty water like a drainage or wash basin; you can even flush it down the commode. Kindly note that you must not chant any kind of Mantra or Prayer of any kind whatsoever while practicing this remedy.

Teachings Of Tibetan Yoga

Get the best Yoga Tips at Yoga Divinity

The Tibetan word for yoga exercise is 'naljor,' which means unifying the body, mind and speech through your breathing. Traditionally, Tibetan yoga was shrouded in much secrecy and secret as its specialists were reluctant to bring the teachings to the West. While Tibetan yoga exercise is a valuable practice, it also is one created for exercising with genuineness and regularity.

Five Tibetan Rites

The 5 Tibetan Ceremonies were established by Tibetan lamas and practiced over centuries. This sequence of postures and breathing are essential to the Tibetan yoga practice because it emphasizes stabilizing the body with the mind. The steps are finished in 20 mins or less each day and must be flowed through with a mindful focus on your breathing. The first ceremony involves holding your arms out with your palms facedown and spinning in between one and 21 times. The second ceremony involves lying on your back and raising your head, then your extended legs in the air. The 3rd ceremony is done from a kneeling position and then leaning back, feeling a stretch in your reduced back and abdominal areas. The fourth includes transitioning from a seated position to a backbend. The 5th ceremony is comparable from the change to a cobra position to a downward canine. When properly carried out, the 5 Tibetan Ceremonies are designed to stabilize the 7 chakras of the body, promoting the Tibetan teachings of balance and positive thinking in life.

Meditation

Meditation is the central component of a Tibetan monk's way of living. Before Tibetan yoga exercise became more commonly practiced, some Tibetan monks thought practitioners should spend approximately 3 years of practice and mind-calming exercise prior to proceeding to advanced yoga types. Since reflection requires mindfulness, the Tibetan yoga exercise teaching goal is to seek loving kindness, compassion and knowledge. Through routine Tibetan yoga practice, Tibetan yoga exercise instructors believe you can begin to symbolize these concepts on a deep level.

Experience The "Natural Mind"

Tibetan yoga exercise teachings count on achieving the 'natural mind.' This mindset is one that's free of adverse thoughts that can influence your mind and body. To accomplish the natural mind with yoga exercise, you must eliminate negative ideas, blockages, imbalances, diversions and ailments. This allows you to attain your natural state devoid of tension. Tibetan yoga exercise practitioners instruct the natural mind because it enables you to stay relaxed at all times. When you can accomplish this state, you're liberated from aspects of life that can keep you from the teachings of kindness and compassion.

Yoga Of Speech

Tibetan yoga teachings include that of mantra recitation. You duplicate mantras to help your mind focus with speech. Speech likewise consists of breath and managing the breath to help your mind and body become slower and gentler. This in turn permits you to exercise Tibetan yoga trainings yourself- passing them along to various other specialists to help them attain spiritual enlightenment.

THE CLOUD SCULPTORS

The air finds flight in forms of lofty wind
As one with nature's children taking part
And soaring up to go and find a friend
Then join with water spinning wispy art.

This nature's process has eternal known
The way to hang up on the sky these drapes
But wonder not how these soft clouds have grown
From fleecy strand filled webs to take their shapes?

Perhaps the artist's brush a thing unseen
With living tools the Elder Gods express
Those firey ones whose scales and talons gleam
To grace the heavens with their soft caress.

Now see the strokes of carving wings along
With falling rain - the strains of Dragon song.

A DREAMING DESIRE

A spark comes coiling to the edge of sleep
From realms arcane which have become unknown
And from this psychic well does beauty leap
A vision cherished for to call my own.

This wispy strand now takes it's shape in fire
And fueled by sources boldly to enchant
Then forming curves from wish of heart's desire
A Woman's eyes all graced with Elvish slant.

The shield maid's arms then reach and wanting clasp
We intertwine within her streaming hair
Then sighing voices send a heartfelt gasp
As fragrance heralds tawny skin now bare'd.

This honored Lady may in shadows walk
But fate may someday find my heart unlock.

TO THE BONFIRES

A circle gathered round a roaring pit
All joining hands to bask within it's glow
And under Moon crowned sky all starry lit
We sing and praise the Power's shadowed flow.

For some the flames form dancing Dragon's wing
And other smoke wrought visions climb the air
For all a caring closeness will this bring
And psychic current bonding hearts to share.

We charge this timeless place between the worlds
To call the Goddess' love within our hearts
And join with her our joyous souls unfurled
Our spirits dance with her by ancient arts.

This night forever captured in this glade
To see old souls re-met and friendships made.
