There are also Family Traditions, which are passed on through family members, so you can't really study those unless you've got family who is already a part of that.

Now, my personal favorite, is Eclectic Wicca! That means you can get ideas and use aspects of whatever you want, so long as you have an understanding of it first. It's both hard and easy to be an Eclectic, easy because you can use whatever you want, hard because you have to learn about all the different things you wish to use.

Those aren't all the paths you can choose from, but they're some of the more popular ones. If there's a specific one you're wondering about, ask me and I'll tell you what I know about it!

In addition to the traditions, you can either be solitary or part of a coven. I'm a solitary eclectic Wiccan, so I work by myself and I use things from a variety of sources. Just because you're a solitary doesn't mean you are forbidden from working with other people, though. I have a close friend I like to work with, and you can go to open circles and whatnot, or even partake in online rituals! Your path can change, too. Just because you start out as a Gardnerian in a coven that doesn't mean you can't change your mind later and become a solitary Dianic or whatever you want to be. It's all about finding a path that works for you!

Also, don't forget, Wicca, Witchcraft, and Pagan are all different things. You'll see we say this a lot, haha. Wicca is a Pagan religion, Witchcraft is a practice that can be a part of Wicca and can also be separate, and Pagan is a term for non-Christian religions. You can be Pagan without being Wiccan.

If we are to cast away the works of darkness and put on the armour of light, it is something that we must do now, "in this mortal life", in order to prepare ourselves for the Last Day, when He will come to judge us, and when that Judgement will determine whether we are to share with Him in His immortal life.

The surf roars while pterodactyl-like pelicans silently glide overhead; the sun is hot on our shoulders and warm in our hearts. This is the life, fleeting seconds of freedom shared by kindred spirits.

Meanwhile, back in the jungle, those maddening native drums are getting closer.

Without editing, I write a lot of run on sentences so please bear with me as this is a transition period in my life. Right now it's either post without much editing or don't post at all. I would rather post and I hope you would rather that too. I'm working on a lot of behind the scenes things in my "regular" life to try get myself more time to write and to write properly but that takes time. And possibly austerities. But that's the next post. I have to be completely honest, I don't understand why people think they don't need glamour magic as part of their personal practice. But most people in my experience as a shop keeper think they don't need love magic either. I'm totally a naughty pony about love magic too. I'm very quick to dismissively wave my hand and say what all my clients say, "I already have love, thank you." It's such a ridiculous thing to say, isn't it? It's like saying, "My relationship is so incredibly perfect right now that nothing you could offer me could improve it. What do I need with more incredible sex, more money so we fight even less, a more compatible schedule so we actually see each other, more dates where we can focus on each other and more long lazy mornings in bed that slide into brunch? No! I don't need any of that! I said, 'Good day!'" Why are we so quick to dismiss the more feminine arts of the arte? Is it because they can be hard to quantify? Why do we try to quantify magic anyway? Isn't that like trying to quantify oral sex experiences from a long time partner? One time may be better than another but the reasons for it could be anything. You're in a better mood, partner is in a more giving place, partner hasn't used their mouth much that day, hormones, pheromones, whatever. If you enjoy oral sex, you don't tell your partner you don't want it anymore because you can't take apart why you like it. It is easy to tell when magic is working generally so perhaps a more accurate aspect of it would be the inability to tell when it's "not" working. Maybe it's not working in the way you expected, maybe everything hasn't aligned correctly yet, maybe it fizzled out all together. Only the Universe knows. Going with the love magic metaphors, just because you are not guaranteed to meet potential long term partners or a great romp in the sack every time you leave the house doesn't mean you shouldn't bother leaving your house anymore, right? Because that's crazy. Why do you do magic? If you are doing magic versus the spiritual worship aspect (which also completely valid in practice of course), you Want something. "No, no. I just--" No. You Want something. You Want something so badly that you're willing to get into a chicken fight with the Universe to get it. You Want something so badly that you're willing to admit to desire. You Want something so badly that you're willing to use means and methods that are laughed at by 75% of the First World's population. You Want something so much that you can't sleep, you can't eat (or eat too much), you can't focus on normal life. Don't feel this way? That's fine. Then don't do magic because it will not be worth it to you to have your life so utterly destroyed in pursuit of an unknown future. Let's break down why people do magic: Protection Revenge Love Sex Power Money Fame If you want to become an ascended being for the sake of being an ascended being and not for any of the reasons listed above, you're in the wrong business. You're better suited for a life of contemplation, go find that and get to where you're trying to go. "Vaya con dios," lover. You deserve bliss, go get it. As for the rest of us, you want one or more of the above. You can couch it however you like, but this is what it boils down to. "IN WHAT SCENARIO WOULD GLAMOUR BE A "HINDRANCE? HERE'S A HINT: UM, NONE OF THEM." Protection: Who gets more protection - someone that people feel inclined to help and protect or someone that people don't feel inclined to help and protect? Why do they feel inclined to protect you? "the attractive or exciting quality that makes certain people or things seem appealing or special." Revenge: When you want an eye for an eye and you're looking for the Universe to salt the earth on your behalf, what would make goddesses and spirits more inclined to help you over someone else? "the attractive or exciting quality that makes certain people or things seem appealing or special." Love: What makes you interested in someone else? "the attractive or exciting quality that makes certain people or things seem appealing or special. "What makes someone else interested in you? Obama Says Yes To Gay Marriage

"With only four words, I can finish this post by saying: all politicians are liars. --To add one more word to it: ALL. Before I get all excited, jumping up and down waving my big, loud rainbow flag into everybody's face, I also want to point out the obvious. How did Obama get elected in the first place? All minorities and those living in not so kept neighborhoods finally got off their couches, or punched out of their factory jobs to vote for someone who can actually relate to them. Let's face it - Obama's one of us. He's real. He's compassionate and seemingly, ~seemingly~ "has a big heart. We didn't know how much ass he would kick during his term, but I'm sure he surprised many republicans, whether they want to admit it or not. And for the record, I didn't vote for Obama. I voted for McCain, however I was biting my lower lip watching Sarah Palin give Tina Fey loads of material for SNL. To be blunt here, that was desperation on McCain's part
since Obama was running," (a black democratic male who had minorities + the LGBT community backing him up)," and with Hillary Clinton hanging in there for a short while, McCain needed that extra boost: a woman as his vice president. That is the only thing that made me question McCain's sanity. But back to why Obama got elected he appealed to most middle class Americans. And you know something, "middle class" is now considered making a six figure income, so even much lower income families we're speaking of. "(That whole middle class definition still gets me.) "

As much as Romney wants to gloat over the "so called fact" that Obama just ruined himself, the reality is
he now has covered all his bases, because most of America either knows someone who is gay, has a friend who's gay, has a relative or immediate family who is gay and most of all, who IS gay. He is paving a smooth road, not to make the flamboyant Americans jump for joy, but to WIN this election, because that's what it's all about. And just because the president now sides with us, it doesn't mean that every single state is now going to bow down and let gays and lesbians marry - it simply means, "we have an accepting president now". Part of me thinks it's great and the other part smells a rat. A big fat lying political rat that's winning this 'race'. There's still a long road ahead for the LGBT community to still fight for their rights to marry, and that's okay because we've come so far. It wasn't even over 50 years ago when interracial couples were allowed to get married, and hey, that was also considered "a sin" -- yet that's now history, isn't it? To what people interpret sin is and instill their religious beliefs upon political matters is basically taking the "freedom of religion" and throwing it out the window. That's what it boils down to. This is no longer a "Christian country"
this is a melting pot full of different races and different religions and/or the lack ther. If this is America, and we have those rights, then why is passing a law for gays and lesbians to get married such a burden on the right winged pubbies? Now you'll be hearing that "Obama's the devil", as it says in the Bible that we will have the 'evil one' become a leader.

"I just want to sidetrack for a moment and talk about "religion" itself. No religion is perfect and and most have different belief systems within one. With Christianity, there are so many different interpretations, misunderstandings and of course, the 'mold your mind' takes on scriptures which many of the times, Christians scare away people from coming to God. (That's the worst sin of all.) " For example, quite a few fellow Christians have told me that if I plan to keep being in my relationship (now marriage) with my wife, then I should stop calling myself a Christian because I'm "mocking God". They throw scriptures out from the Old Testament (Leviticus) and then try to incorporate the New Testament scriptures that speak mainly about the promiscuity of all men and women - not just for gays and lesbians. They can twist and turn these verses well enough to make anybody turn against God, or turn away from their own self and deny their own happiness; their true orientation of being gay or lesbian. So either way, it's a brainwashing type of mindset some of these "Christians" have. Do we really want that type of person in office?
