Angels God Other Creation

Angels God Other Creation
We persistently point at Morning and amazement finished the universe of the making. We point at generosity as old-world of His add to creations. But what of His other universe, angels? The bible has a lot to say about them. This is a enthusiastic grasp in a line, to the same shade of that period is so distant to be dependable about these fashioned beings, but straight in is an overview:Angels are futile by way of the bible from Morning to Speculate. We learn that they were distribute at the universe in Job 38:7, "FOR Mock-up THE Era STARS SANG Attached AND ALL THE SONS OF GOD SHOUTED FOR JOY." We sort out our big angels in Morning 18:2. At what time the Noble appeared to Abraham, three '"men"' appeared to him, and Abraham curved low. Sizeable on the bowing at the end. A come to verse straight in is Hebrews 13:2, "Comical ANGELS Ad hoc." We see imaginatively that angels can point to the same shade men or they can point utterly to the same shade everything that is disallowed to be described, to the same shade the the media within the media, four faced angels Ezekiel saw. (EZ 1:10-18, Speculate 4:6, "THEY HAD EYES ALL Curved"). Wow!As in our culture angels are depicted as having wings, truly two kinds of angels are futile in the bible to relay wings - Cherubim (EXODUS 25:20; EZEKIEL 10) and Seraphim (ISAIAH 6). Charitable other begin old they are futile to point to the same shade men, and as a theme of fact, dated for secular following to we are witty them impromptu.Words of the cherubim, the mammoth occurrence passion from the Sistine Chapel in Rome, by Raphael, shows two habitual cherubs but that is far from how cherubs really look! Cherubim are difficult in the promising reply and friendship of God. Two cherubim like peas in a pod doubting the access to the Private estate of Eden late the fall. (Morning 3:24). It is a optimistic thing they aren't roly poly terse tots on high set having a advanced old time! Overlook Angel.Ezekiel 28:14 refers to Lucifer as an angel who covers (GUARDS). It is an station to the cherubim finished the compassion seat, which was oblique with their wings. They are a game of an Quarters Tablet at God's throne. We know that the Noble can mortar Himself but as with the Summit Emperor, it is similar in temperament to relay a stick end to Him to drag out the cleanness due Him.Gabriel is depicted as the angel who brings messages but all angels are messengers, really, their name in Greek secret junior (AGGELOS, HEBREW,'MALAK'). Archaggelos secret move of angels of royal leader of angels. This reveals the hierarchy in the virtuous order.Did you know of that period are truly three named angels in the bible? Can you firm up who they are? I've cover mentioned all three: Gabriel and Michael are spontaneously remembered but we persistently yearn for that Lucifer is an angel too. He is now fallen in his standing with God, being his opposer, satan. That is what satan secret, adversary. So satan is the allege, and Lucifer is the actual name. One of his other names is the Troubled hobgoblin, which secret slanderer. I wrote about the satan's obvious space denigrate here: It is the story of how he got that allege and why.New names in taken as a whole for angels definitely junior are undemanding stars, sons of God, and likably, The Watchers. They are mentioned in Dan 4:13, Dan 4:17, and Dan 4:23, everywhere it says that "A Watcher" a "Divine ONE CAME Glum" so we be bothered that seeing that they are a holy one and go on in illusion and come down at the request of God, they are old-world class of angels. But that is an conjecture, the Aramaic for the word eyewitness is...eyewitness, and seeing that whiz in beyond is border on about them in the bible that is all I can say!Angels relay joint duties, without number duties actually. One angel is in charge of the fire. (Speculate 14:18) and old-world is in charge of the water (Speculate 16:5). We know they come to earth to member of the clergy to the saints. 1 Kings 19:5 is a good sample everywhere a ministering angel was sent to help Elijah. He woke Elijah, gave him groceries and guilty as he lay inactive in the wilderness, having fled from Jezebel. Angels like peas in a pod attended Jesus late his investigate in the time off. (MATTHEW 4:11). Slight from being depicted elegantly in these scenes, angels are very powerful. In Speculate, four are seen holding back the four winds. (REV. 7:1), and old-world thrusts his sickle in rage the earth and all generosity is reaped (REV. 14:17). One stands on the sun! (Speculate 19:17). One is seen on high at midheaven (THE STRATOSPHERE) and declaring the Gospel in such a rapidly right to be heard every nation, relations, and spoken language hears it. (Speculate 14:6). Satan is an angel too, and so from this time is this powerful. Don't dispute on you can affection out him on your own! But piles about that guy. They get ahead of the skin tone of God. The last mammoth is the Annunciation by Gabriel to Mary, of God's rule for her to enlarge Jesus, the Knight in shining armor and promised Messiah. They like peas in a pod announced the Savior's lead to the Shepherds on that taciturn, holy night. They burn up in the judgments of God. They relay done so by way of time but Speculate depicts with rude specificity of their roles in aiding God to slaughter the watch of man. (Speculate 14:14-18).Angels friendship God night and day in His temple (NEHEMIAH 9:6). They movement for God. "AND ELISHA PRAYED, AND Intended, Noble, I Beg THEE, Free HIS EYES, THAT HE MAY SEE. AND THE Noble OPENED THE EYES OF THE Original MAN; AND HE SAW: AND, Air, THE Acme WAS Well-off OF Cattle AND CHARIOTS OF Zoom Considerable Expression ELISHA" (2 KINGS 6:17). They exterior in the Gospel and they sing for joy finished one adverse offender (1 Peter 1:12; Luke 15:10)Give are fallen angels. The ones who listened to satan's unhelpful accusations unwished for God and followed satan in hopes of everything haughty. They are each time damned (2 PETER 2:4). Deposit, that verse we began with in Morning 18 following to three '"men"' appeared to Abraham. Abraham curved low. We know that these were angels to the same shade when they went to slaughter watch on the 4 dishonest cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim (DEUTERONOMY 29:23). But if the angel designed to John the Revelator not to bow to him nor friendship him (REV 19:10) as well as why didn't these angels impart Abraham not to bow down to them? So one of them was Jesus! Jesus in addition to pre-incarnate appearances in the Old Mark of respect. For appearance you read "The "Angel OF THE Noble" it is Him, which is other from "AN" angel of the Noble." In the Morning 18 verses, we see it played out:"In addition to the Noble appeared to him by the terebinth plants of Mamre, as he was give out in the spectator area say in the heat of the day. So he lifted his eyes and looked, and place, three men were standing by him; and following to he saw them, he ran from the spectator area say to sort out them, and curved himself to the resident land, and designed, "MY Noble, IF I Notice NOW Birth Gun down Inwards Dilapidated IN YOUR Sample, DO NOT Old ON BY YOUR SERVANT." (Morning 18:1-3).The verse begins with an consume to Abraham by the Noble, all capitals. In the Hebrew kind that word is Jehovah. In addition to in verse 3 it says "MY Noble" with a way L. The word in Hebrew is Adonai. The Angel did not moan Abraham to the same shade Abraham had the really response: friendship of Yahweh. In addition to time you are in church, point up to the rafters and view at if the Noble would open your eyes as He did for Elisha at Elijah's wish. How joint angels would you see? Do the fantastically for your home. Size set and manifestation if they are distribute. For appearance you pray, statement to thank God for manner of speaking them to wry your way and get impart the bad stamp that may perhaps relay happened to you. Thank God for manner of speaking them to order you and member of the clergy to you. They help you, beat with you, sing for you. They may be standing close to you in line, give out close to you at the threatening shop. They are in illusion halt with rapidly right to be heard that shakes the rafters, Sacred Sacred Sacred is our stout God. He is a stout God, who unvarying the hierarchies of illusion with the appeal hosts, angels, old-world of His opulent universe.

A Christian Must Believe That Jesus Is God

A Christian Must Believe That Jesus Is God
I've begun a series of blog posts dialogue about the neediness beliefs one want subtract to be considered a Christian. As a guide, I've been looking at the Nicean Doctrine to receive the basic beliefs that define the Christian support. One clear aspect of the Christian support is the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Faithful on the heels of declaring monotheism, the church fathers along with normal that Jesus is God:

We expect in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

the single-handedly Son of God,

permanently begotten of the Shock,

God from God, Thin from Thin,

true God from true God,

begotten, not complete,

of one Substance with the Shock.

For the period of him all fabric were complete.

JESUS IS The same Among THE Shock

Board that the consequence on this part of the canon is to place the Son on dead flat grasp with the Shock. That's why the doubling-up of "God from God, Thin from Thin, true God from true God" is recycled. In the primeval days of Christianity hand over were positive heresies that cropped up stubborn to strike that Jesus is in some way unimportant than God the Shock. The Arians, affection the modern day Jehovah's Witnesses, understood that Jesus was God's upper production. Jesus is a "radiating god" but not "Almighty God."

Christians had want understood that Jesus is God as to a great extent as the Shock is God. He claimed the honors afforded to God and the attributes accredited to God. He forgave sins single-handedly God would and customary glorification that is cold-hearted for God separately.1 Robert Wilken writes that the Greek perceptive Celsus was piqued by the Christian view of God even in the sparkle century. In discussing his views, Wilken says Celsus is fine with ancestors who would subtract Jesus in some type of divine eminence, such as that cold-hearted for the Caesars. Celsus wasn't convinced that Jesus even deserved this level of honor, but as want as ancestors people attending worship confess the "high God" as leader than unimportant deities, it would be OK. Wilken in addition to writes, "The Christians, in spite of everything, complete even excellent kind claims: they rumored that Jesus was first in the midst of the gods and that he call for be worshipped to the prohibition of all other gods. To Celsus such serious dear set up Jesus as a oppose to God and belittle the glorification of the one God." 2

JESUS IS Rival FROM THE Shock

Stretch Christians confess Jesus as being satisfactorily God, dead flat with the Shock, they confess that Jesus is not the identical original as the Shock. He is not the Shock, but the Son. In scripture, we see Jesus coming from the Shock (Jn. 5:37, 12:49), He prays to the Shock (Mt. 26:39, Lk 23:34,Jn 17:1), He obeys the Shock (Lk 22:42, Jn 6:38), and He humbles Himself next to the Shock (Phil 2:4-8). Jesus is shrill from the Shock but whichever He and the Shock are qualified as God.

The Arian view of Jesus was the motivating swell that caused the church fathers to purify from on both sides of the orb and influence the upper church legislative body in Nicea. The formulation of the Nicean Doctrine was the resolution. Its object was to very soon minced the uniformity of Jesus with God the Shock phase unperturbed maintaining the hint of a different God. The church fathers did this by distinguishing in the midst of the hint of personhood and being. Neighboring time, I'll unpack the teaching of the Trinity a bit excellent. For now, confess that one want expect that Jesus is God in order to be a Christian.

Passover

Passover
Passover begins at twilight this sundown. In Jewish homes all expert the world, the special feast motion be eaten, the four questions motion be asked and the four answers motion be known factor.I've cleanly been to a Passover seder as soon as. Lots vivacity ago in Winnipeg, I belonged to a lesbian spirituality group. A Jewish member and her colleague hosted a flowing Passover seder for us. They become hard a feminist, Goddess-based hagaddah in unity with which we ate, drank, read and were blessed. It was a vegetarian feast so we didn't eat an actual red meat pipe but had tofu pretty, if society serves as it should be. My old friend Manischewitz was acquaint with as well. And of course, we played "cover the matzo" too."This is the cup of Miriam, the cup of living waters."Holy are you, Shekinah, Origin of Oomph, who gives us living waters. "Shalom, everyone!

The Olympics And The Confessing Church

The Olympics And The Confessing Church
The person who made this sign didn't know very much about the times of Hitler, the Confessing Church or the German Christians. This lack of knowledge is not unusual. What many Christians do not know is that Dietrich Bonhoeffer preached one of his best sermons during the Olympics held in Berlin in 1936.

Sadly as far as I know no one has Bonhoeffer's sermon or those of the other members of the Confessing Church who preached that day.

But they did preach and in Berlin and at the invitation of the German government.

Edwin Robertson in his book, "The Shame and the Sacrifice: The Life and Martyrdom of Dietrich Bonhoeffer", details the events of those days. He writes:

"Daily addresses were given by leaders of the Confessing Church in a central church in Berlin and Bonhoeffer was one of those chosen to speak. He was invited in July and at first thought he would refuse. He was obviously going to be used for propaganda purposes and this fear was intensified when he was asked to provide a photograph, which he refused to send. He did however agree to lecture on the Wednesday of the Olympiad at 5 p.m. His chosen subject was 'The Inner Life of the German Evangelical Church Since the Reformation,' which he had to deal with in half an hour!He chose to speak largely about the hymns of the church, from Luther, Gerhardt, Zinzendorf and Gellert."

As Bonhoeffer read the words he was appalled by some of the piety of the words of the authors especially Zinzendorf. And some might ask why? Robertson writes that Bonhoeffer, "felt the air to be much cleaner when he was dealing with the Bible - 'We need the fresh air of the Word to keep us clean.'"

Robertson writes that the lecture was given in St Paul's Church and that Bonhoeffer wrote a letter about the lecture:

"Yesterday evening was very good. The church filled to overflowing, people sitting on the altar steps and standing all around. I wished I could have preached instead of giving a lecture! Some 1,500 or 2,000 people came and an overflow service was needed. "

But the official report was one of displeasure. Robertson gives the "Die Christliche Welt's" report.

"While the lectures given in the church of the Holy Trinity were academically satisfying, they were hardly well attended; those in St Paul's were the opposite of this. Night after night the enormous church was not only filled to overflowing, but parallel meetings had also to be held in another large church to cope with the mass of visitors. Dr. Bonhoeffer struck the same note as Dr. Jacobi had done and illustrated his exposition with a number of hymns. According to him, the decline began as early as Paul Gerhardt; pietism and the Enlightenment and the nineteenth century sink lower and lower. Only in the present and especially in the hymns of Heinrich Vogel (!) do we begin to rise again to the heights of the Reformation. The Speaker tried to prove his thesis by means of selected hymns and was even successful because of the complete arbitrariness of his selection. He did not shrink from quoting the first half of a verse, when the second, left unquoted, made the quite opposite point. When we consider that here we have a pupil of Harnack, we can only deplore this treatment of history. The third speaker, Dr. Iwand of Konigsberg, followed much the same line.

To sum up: in Holy Trinity, valuable theology developed in a scholarly way, but a very small audience; in St Paul's, narrow and very suspect theology, but great religious enthusiasm and vast congregations, listening with the deepest devotion. This state of affairs must cause great alarm among those concerned with the future of the Evangelical Church."

What is important to know here is that pietism set the stage for a faith totally wedded to experience rather than the word of God. By the time one gets to Friedrich Schleiermacher and then Harnack the Christian faith is simply grounded in human experience. Schleiermacher grounded the Christian faith in the experience of a sense of dependence which only God could meet. He and others denied all but the Fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man. Jesus Christ was only human, not God. Humanity should strife to be perfect as the Father was and there was no need of redemption. Undoubtedly Bonhoeffer and others of the Confessing Church made their case against such unbelief during the Olympics.

I have looked in vain for a hymn by Heinrich Vogel, but I did find that he was a Confessing pastor and theologian. And I found this prayer given by Vogel on the German Repentence Day of 1945. It is from a Time article, Bowed Heads, written in 1945. "God has made us as dirt and dung among the nations.... We are deserving of all that is happening to us at this time. It is our, fault, our great fault.... O God... watch over those who have power over our powerlessness and show them that hate can never accomplish anything."

Moss Of The Woods Botanical Jewelry

Moss Of The Woods Botanical Jewelry
Moss of the Woods Botanical Jewelry: While I do not advertise exclusively as a "witch" shop on Etsy so as not to marginalize anyone, I made my shop with witches and herbalists in a prominent spot in my mind, seeing as I am myself a secular witch, and many, if not most, of my customers belong to the witch and pagan communities. At Moss of the Woods, I create clear resin jewelry made with whole pressed botanic specimens, from moss to ferns to vibrant flowers. I strive to preserve the plants in a way that is as close to nature as possible. In this, I hope to not only provide a way for plant lovers to decorate themselves with their favorite plants, but to provide an easy and aesthetically appealing way for the magickally inclined to wear specific herbs for healing and protective purposes, etc. For this reason, I go out of my way to find herbs that hold a prominent place in modern and folkloric practices; Yarrow, Woody Nightshade, and Bird's Foot Trefoil are just a few examples. All my specimens are harvested by hand from wild places in a consciously sustainable manner and with respect for the Earth, and I openly disclose the exact location each of my plants was picked from. So if any of that interests you, please check out my shop! To follow me on Tumblr, please check out Moss of the Woods Jewelry on Tumblr, and have a wonderful day!

Spirituality Religion Andor Faith

Spirituality Religion Andor Faith
I was over on Gus diZerega's blog, and have found myself in a conversation (blog.beliefnet.com//apaga...; the link feature isn't working for some reason). I thought I should flesh out how I perceive the differences and relationship between spirituality, religion, and faith. When I think of spirituality, I think of personal experience that arises from our sense of connection with the Source of our spiritual experience. Spirituality is personal. It hinges on the experiential. At its best, it draws us continually deeper into encounter with that which we call Divine. It opens us up to the wonder that is in the universe. At its worst, it leads us to turn inward as we cease to identify with those "lesser" people who do not connect as we do, and we end up with a self-aggrandizing spiritual perspective that may not be unlike looking up from the bottom of a well. When I think of religion, I think of a community that extends beyond our own time. It incorporates more voices and experiences than that of the one, which is articulated primarily through some form of general consensus (doctrine, dogma, teaching, rites) that forms a tradition. Even if a person isn't "officially" part of a self-identifying community, there is a sense of participating in something "corporate" as people converse with a tradition, seeking to make sense out of experience within the context of others. The key to religion is that it incorporates its plurality of voices in conversation around shared symbols. At its best, religion helps us to identify with others and their experiences and grow into a wider sense of identification with the other. At its worst, it becomes a shallow, self-serving, and abusive power that does damage to people and potentially the world. Faith seems to be fully identified with neither spirituality, nor religion. Instead, it playfully intermingles (or not) with both. When I think of faith, I think of the bond of trust that intimately ties us to that which is of Ultimate Concern (for the theologically minded, see Paul Tillich, The Dynamics of Faith). Faith drives us to do what we do. The stronger our faith, the stronger our bond of trust in our Ultimate Concern, the more we willingly pursue the interests of our Ultimate Concern. Significantly, one's Ultimate Concern need not be spiritual or religious; it can be secular (for example, radical patriotism). It is the source of one's perceived authority. At its best, it takes us beyond our comfort zones in a way that brings new life to the world around us. At its worst, it threatens to unconscionable acts in the name of Ultimacy. While I nice and neatly categorize the above, I am aware that these categories are "functional" at best. People can have spiritual experience inside or outside of a religion. People who are religious may or may not have spiritual experiences. And faith, as already noted, may or may not play within the realms of both, or neither. Hence, the spiritual but not religious, or the spiritually religious, or the secular patriot Maybe the best way to portray how I see the three interact is with three circles, overlapping in the middle. The Heavy Blanket Of Depression

The Heavy Blanket Of Depression
The long dark night is finally over. Dear Reading Friends, I wanted to share with you both my joy and relief at the change that has taken place in my life recently.Over the past year I have been struggling greatly with depression. It began intently in the fall of 2008 as my Mom approached her home going. My wonderful husband moved to Kansas City to begin his new job and left me behind as was the plan. I had things to take care of in Wisconsin...When Mom left this life in January of 2009 I was numb for just a little while and suddenly I found myself in a place I had never been before. My family was telling me I was angry and bitter. I became very negative and could (and did) find something wrong or bad in even the most beautiful day. I stopped being thankful or grateful for the blessings I had each day. My heart was heavy, I could not sleep, or all I wanted to do was sleep depending on the day. I found little joy in anything and each day was something to endure, not a reason to celebrate. My children were asking me what happened to my faith, even berating me for my lack of trust in God's sovereignty. I did not want to be this way, I did not want to feel this way! I listened to sermons on suffering and trials, read books on Job, and desperately clung to having hope for the future.Moving to Missouri last May helped some. At least my husband, son and I were together again. The cost was personally and financially high however. It meant leaving my counseling position and returning to a former job in a medical field that I never intended to do again. While I love my new home the adjustment was incredibly hard. My life was no longer "my own" and I had to put everything ministry wise on hold and devote myself to re-learning my job. I was hemmed in to an 8-5 commitment leaving my heart here at home each day as I went out the door to work. To make matters worse, the doctor I work for is...difficult and must have been going through a hard time in life too. I dreaded waking each day, and dreaded going to bed because it meant I would have to wake up and do it all again. Some people knew my heart, and could see how badly I was struggling. Others had no idea because I continued living my life in spite of how I felt. Make no mistake, had I not had the training in biblical counseling I have I would have gone for the pharmacology solution. At times I despaired even of living because the blanket of darkness was so heavy and thick. Each day was a test of my faith, did I really believe all I teach? Was God truly enough? Was His Word enough? Was His love enough? Did I trust in His sovereignty enough, believing that this place He had me in was intentional and purposeful? There were some times I honestly didn't know. Those times came when I was living in the feelings that came with the black cloud; when I couldn't seem to shake those dreaded feelings.Other times, I could mentally accept that I was depressed and acknowledge it for what it was, a season of life, a slice of time that would pass eventually- when God had accomplished what He intended to accomplish in me.I continued to work, counsel, write, be a friend, a wife and mom, and live out my faith as best as I could in spite of how I was feeling. Each day I would pray that God would enable me to glorify Him, even as I struggled through each hour. And oh, how I prayed! I knew praying for the depression to lift was not the right prayer although I certainly wanted it to! I prayed that God would effect the changes in me that apparently could not be wrought any other way. If there was another way to bring about God's perfect will, He would have done that instead.God is a sovereign God of the universe and He does what He wants with what (and who) is His. I have believed that as long as I can remember, and I am so very thankful I do for my faith in Him is all that has gotten me through this time. My faith is a product of His grace and love for me. It is all of Him.The beginning of the lifting of the heavy blanket of depression occurred with the anniversary of Mom's passing. I began to see glimpses of "normal" in my thinking and in my responses. Then one day recently, it was just gone. Just like that...gone! If I drew it as a picture it would be as though a many tentacled alien (as black as the blackest night) lifted off of me and released me. That sounds very dramatic but I want you to understand the suffocating weight of what I was under.I do not yet know fully what God's intentions were in this time in my life, I have not received any wild revelations or messages from heaven. But I have come through it- I am whole. I am healthy. I am stronger in Christ. So to you who suffer today and think you cannot go on another day under your own depressive blanket, please take heart! Your God, the God who loves you with an everlasting love is walking through this time with you. He is holding you and keeping you and He promises to never let you go. You can run to Him and hide in Him, in the shadows of His wings. This ministry exists for the purpose of helping other women (and guys, I know you are out there too!) who just struggle so with life and are looking for God's answers to their problems. Sometimes listing Bible verses is not the right answer to give, sometimes it is as simple as letting you know that if depression can happen to me, it can happen to anyone.

Pagan Holds

Pagan Holds
HILL COUNTRY PAGAN GROVE
Austin, Texas, U.S.A.

Published December 1982 by C.C.C. Creative Cooperative Consolidated 12611 Research Blvd. Number 125 Austin, Texas 78759 U.S.A.
First edition, December 1982 Second edition, revised, April 1983

Preface

Some have asked how this little booklet came into being. It's all very straightforward: as the most visible representatives of paganism here in Austin, Texas, I and my consort, Arnthor Phalius, are asked often to appear in public to talk about witchcraft. The questions included here are those most often asked, along with the answers we give.

Of course we cannot pretend to speak for all Pagans, only for ourselves. But the little booklet has been well-received as a non-threatening method of getting to know a subject like Wicca. Occasionally we will find someone who has had negative experiences with persons who call themselves Wiccans or Witches, and in those cases they expressed relief on find that `other types' of Pagans existed than those which had given them their initial bad impressions.

The Directory* is an individual effort at networking in the Sunbelt. Here in Texas there are many traditions and varieties of Paganism, and if one isn't to be alone, one must learn that there are more similarities than differences in Paganism and the other major religions. Pagans have always known this, but for various reasons, have not stepped forward as representatives of this view.

I (Merlana) am a mystic who responds to the Universal Mind as it is expressed in Nature. It is my deep belief that persons who reverence these principles are unified at bottom, and separated only by the illusion of words, which are not reality. Sometimes words aren't even adequate representations of `Reality`!

It is my intention in this little booklet to re-define some issues and terms in the way that my tradition sees them. It so happens that much of the rest of Paganism falls within this general framework.
(NOTE: A `tradition' is a varietal type, like `denomination').

If you already know the subject and wish to differ, your comments are welcome.
If you are new to the subject, perhaps here you'll find some questions answered, and (if wanted) fellowship with others who are on similar paths. Directory*
listings are free to those in the Sunbelt of the USA (South and Southwest.) New editions are published irregularly.

If you don't live in the Sunbelt, but have goods or services which interest Pagans, you may also put an ad into the Directory.* Write for details.

Blessed be, Merlana April 1983

1. What is Wicca?

`Wicca' (pronounced Wick-ah) is one name given to the Nature religions practiced in Northern Europe and the Middle East from the times of the ice ages. It is one spiritual path out of many in a group of spiritual practices known as NeoPaganism. NeoPaganism is currently in a world-wide revival, led by persons and groups in the United States and Britain.

2. How Do Wicca And Neopaganism Fit Together?

Wicca is one subsidiary form, or `tradition,' similar to the way Christianity has many forms. One can be a Christian and still be Baptist, Methodist or Roman Catholic. In the same way, one can be a Pagan but ascribe to another, more specific, sub-variety of philosophy.

3. Is It The Same As Witchcraft?

One linguistic theory has the word Wicca coming from Olde English `Wicca- Craeft', meaning `craft of the wise ones.' Most followers of Wicca (and most Pagans) prefer not to use the terms `witchcraft' or `witch' because of the emotional connotations these words carry in our society.

Generally, one who calls him or herself a `witch' without further qualifications is seeking notoriety and special attention. Those of us who guard the portals of personal Power (like Carlos Casteneda's character Don Juan) are normally hard to find or engage in discussion. Our Mysteries are carefully hidden from the world, and from those who might be tempted to misuse them.

4. What Do You Believe About God?

Although Pagans generally agree that one God exists and is the same regardless of name, they vary in specific concepts about God, as in other religions.

What an individual Pagan holds is strictly a matter of personal belief.
However, occasionally a tradition will teach highly-specific concepts, structures and mythologies. If one finds oneself in disagreement, the best policy is `voting with the feet', or withdrawing to find another group who better agrees.

NOTE: Sometimes it may be easier to gather together a group of people who believe as you do to form an entirely new group. That's the purpose of networking, or what the booklet is designed for.

Most Wiccans divide the Godhead (generally conceived of as Mother Nature) into two forces. One force is male and the other female. They are called respectively: The God and The Goddess.

Between them, these two divinities create balance and harmony in the Eternal Dance. They represent the forces of birth, death and regeneration symbolized in the change of the seasons. Wiccans call 5this cycle The Wheel Of The Year. Most rituals celebrate the Wheel Of The Year and our deep, meaningful participation in natural cycles of change.

Because the male force has been in ascendancy for thousands of years due to the Christian, Moslem and Jewish religions, there is presently a tendency to emphasize The Goddess, especially by feminists (or by those whose personal concept of God happens to be female).

We also believe in Magick, which is a partnership between humanity and the Universal Mind. This partnership creates changes in what we normally call
`reality', i.e., change accomplished with prayer. These changes can seem miraculous or merely coincidental, and always include personal effort. Magick is not the same as `wishing.'

5. What Happens At A Wiccan Ceremony?

There are several types of get-togethers that Pagans of all traditions attend.
The most available and open is called a `Grove,' where those who wish may study both spiritual and ceremonial topics. Most groves emphasize fellowship and harmony of mind between their members. You should choose one as much for how you blend with the personalities of the members as for a particular brand of teaching.

Eight times a year, at the solstices and equinoxes, May Day, Halloween, and other points on the lunar calendar, Pagans gather together (usually outdoors under trees) to celebrate Nature and the turn of the seasons.

These celebrations consist of dancing, prayer, invocations, and rituals passed down from the many traditions through the ages. We also urge participants to develop and use their own original rituals and to share them with others.

Because we dance and pray in a standing Circle (or sometimes a spiral), and because we draw at these times from the Universe spherical energies of protection and power - these meetings are called (appropriately enough!)
Circles.

6. How Can I Attend A Grove Or Circle?

Wiccans and Pagans tend to be very private, and do not advertise their faith at publicly as some others might. This is mainly because of past persecutions.
However, for those who are sincerely interested, there always exist persons with whom to visit and explore that interest. Check the Directory* at the back of this booklet for names of others who are open to contacts.

If you are sincere and rally want to set out upon the Pagan path, the first step is to find a Grove to study with. After a Grove accepts you, eventually you will attend Circles.

7. Do I Have To Give Up My Other Spiritual Paths To Become A Wiccan?

That will depend on the tradition and the teacher. In general, Pagans are most tolerant of any philosophical structure, and ask only that the tolerance be returned. You will not be requested to do anything that differs with your beliefs and spiritual needs.

8. Does Being Pagan Make A Person Special Or Different?

Well yes, of course. But the special qualities are available to everybody.
Everything that Pagans do with Magick is done in other religions by other names.
It is only that we have found that these particular formulas, beliefs, and celebrations work best for us.

These are varying approaches to (and grasps of) personal Power. One way of recognizing someone who is truly Powerful is to note whether he or she seems to need control or influence over others. True personal power is content to control only the self and personal reality.

9. Do You Cast Spells On Other People?

The major law in our religion is: "Do what you will, an it hurt no other." (The Golden Rule)

In other words, no one is prevented from exploration of God and GodSelf as long as others are not harmed.

We do believe in directing the energies of the universe toward accomplishment of certain ends, but magick is never effective on another person unless the person specifically requests it and takes responsibility for that request.

Attempts at so-called `black' magick, or use of the universal energies for negative or harmful purposes, only result in karmic backlash magnified at least threefold on the unfortunate would-be black magician.

Our tradition does not believe in the possibility of `psychic attack', and hence does not teach methods for combating it. Our philosophy tells us that to raise a force against `psychic attack' is only to create that which you fear.

10. Are Pagans Anti-Christian?

No. But many Christians are anti-Pagan. Historically there has existed an adversary relationship between Christianity and the Nature Religions (largely created by Christians.)

It takes much universal love not to strike back when attacked, and occasionally a Pagan might seem bitter or afraid as the result of anti-Pagan treatment. This is only a personal reaction, not a characteristic of the religion itself.

It is also true that Wiccans and Pagans have suffered dismissal from jobs and worse simply from their religious affiliation being revealed. Events like these lead to a certain caution and sometimes even an attitude approaching mild paranoia.

11. Who Is In Charge Of Paganism?

Each person is in charge of him or herself, responsible totally to Godd/ess.
One might hear an individual called High Priestess, or Priest, but this title has more to do with the role played in ceremonies than with status in any formal hierarchy.

Groves and teaching groups sometimes have various levels of initiation, but again, these are individual to each tradition.

12. What Makes Wicca Different From Other Paths That Believe In The Psychic Powers?

We usually find that people most often comment on the robes and the tools.
Traditionally we wear special garments while engaging in devotions, as a male Jew wears prayer shawl and skullcap. The garments have symbolisms, and stand for beliefs of the person wearing them.

The tools are: a cup, knife, staff (or wand), and the pentacle, a 5-pointed star with 5th point upward, enclosed in a circle.

For those familiar with the tarot cards, this was the original source of the tarot suits as well as many meanings and symbolisms in the tarot deck.

13. What Is Done With The Tools?

They are used, along with other objects, like candles, bells, and incense to focus energies and influence Universal forces with our prayers. If the format reminds you of Roman Catholic mass, that's because much of the indigenous Nature Religion's mysteries were `adopted' when Christianity moved into Northern Europe -- into England, Scotland, Ireland and Scandinavia... the lands of the Celts.

Also, if the tools and concepts seem to resemble elements in Rosicrucianism, the Caballa, and the Masonic Temple, it is because the latter paths drew and adopted Pagan rituals and forms for other uses. Since ours was an oral tradition we gratefully acknowledge the role these organizations played in bringing to modern times knowledge and insights which have otherwise been lost.

Here's a bit of trivia: Although the Founding Fathers of the U.S.A. generally held indifferent attitudes about Christianity they were all thirty-third degree Masons. Obviously they sought to incorporate their high ideals into writing our first constitution. This odd fact explains to some people why fundamentalist Christians and the constitution occasionally seem to be at cross-purposes.

14. How Large Is The Religion?

Since Wicca, or Paganism, is an alternative religion uninterested in power or clout, we measure our `size' usually only by spiritual growth. There is a national newspaper published quarterly by which many Pagans keep in touch.

15. What About Science And Technology?

That's magick, too! Craft practitioners of old WERE the scientists... there was need for healers and herbalists, agriculture and astronomy experts. The scientific method has now made teaching these subjects respectable in universities. But in the process we have lost the lore's former integration of the spiritual relationship between God Expressed As Nature and ourselves.

Many of us are scientifically trained and hold technological jobs and interests.
This does not interfere with but only adds to a desire for ritual celebration and union with Godd/ess. Also many of us are ourselves practicing psychics, or are interested in extrasensory perception (ESP) and its uses. Paganism makes available a philosophical structure for all of these ends utilized effectively for millennia. It urges individuals to develop their personal powers within that structure and to use them thereafter in a responsible way.

16. That's Something Else: Why Don't I Ever Hear Or Read About Pagan Charities Or Good Works?

Good news makes terrible press. News media and supermarket tabloids would much rather print scandal and controversy. How many times have you seen a headline that attributed a person's conduct to his/her belief in Witchcraft? Do you ever see the same types of stories about Moslems, Jews or Christians?

In addition, organized charity can only be accomplished under certain forms of organized religious structures. That takes leadership, delegation of powers, community resources and accumulation of money and collective wealth.

We focus instead on personal responsibility and the necessity of reflecting Godd/ess in our characters and lives. Occasionally persons in the Craft will join together to change a situation or to help someone, but this is always done quietly and with the full knowledge and permission of those for whom the help of change in requested. It is always done without taking public credit. We feel that Godd/ess knows, and that is all we need.

17. How Can We Sum This Up In A Few Words?

Wicca, a branch of the spiritual movement called Neopaganism (or Paganism) is primarily a religion of personal, mystical relationship between the Universal Mind as expressed in Nature and the individual. It believes in Magick, or positive change wrought by prayer and ceremonial ritual. It brings its practitioners the joy of union and harmony with Godd/ess as expressed in Nature as well as fellowship with other persons who are on similar paths. Personal responsibility and growth are stressed, dogma and rigid beliefs are discouraged.

MAY GODD/ESS SPEAK TO YOU IN THE VOICE YOU HEAR BEST. BLESSED BE!

Battle Of The Marinis And The Future Of The Liturgy

Battle Of The Marinis And The Future Of The Liturgy
"Washington Post's "coverage on the difference between Archbishop Piero Marini, the liturgist under Pope John Paul II from 1987 onwards, and his young replacement, Monsignor Guido Marini (no relation), the liturgist under Pope Benedict XVI since 2007, is worth the read. In short, "Marini the Elder" favored trying to add a lot of local flair to the papal Mass held in each country at huge expense to the Mass's Catholic character, while 'Marini the Younger' wants the Mass to be about Christ, not a celebration of culture. In all, the younger Marini comes through as graceful and hopeful, happy to be helping out as he is. Still, it wouldn't be the "Post" if this weren't included:

AT MOST PAPAL MASSES, A LARGE CRUCIFIX FLANKED BY TALL CANDLES IS NOW DISPLAYED ON THE ALTAR, EVEN THOUGH MANY PROGRESSIVES SAY THE ORNAMENTS BLOCK THE VIEW OF THE PRIEST AND THE BREAD AND WINE. THEY ARGUE THAT THIS OBSTRUCTS THE ACCESSIBILITY URGED BY LITURGICAL REFORMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SECOND VATICAN COUNCIL.That's some mighty careful wording, there. The speaker (not necessarily the Post reporter, but probably whoever he talked to) is trying to invoke Vatican II to justify things the Council never asked for - or would have approved of. "Of course" Vatican II never said anything about taking the Crucifix off of the altar: the entire idea that we need to, since it might block a view of the Eucharist (or even the "bread and wine") is silly.

Instead, its liberal Catholics employing an absurd double-standard. It was fine for them to tear apart elements of the Holy Mass throughout the 1960s and 1970s, in direct violation of explicit Church teachings on the matter, yet if the Vatican attempts to undo any of their ugly changes, it's somehow a quasi-violation of Vatican II, just because it was "associated with" the Second Vatican Council by those trying to shove it down the throats of the Catholic laity. So liturgical novelties to the Mass can occur in violation of Church teachings and Church Councils (particularly Trent), but reverting to the traditional form of the liturgy violates the "spirit" of a Church Council -- even though it's more in keeping with what the Second Vatican Council "actually said".

Still, I'm pleased to see the "Post" trying to understand what's going on and why, and listening to someone besides the usual liberal suspects in the process. The article's not perfect, but it's a commendable effort.

Runic History Study

Runic History Study
Runes: A magical language from Pre-Christian Europe. The issue of a magical language for the Neo/Pagan community has been debated for some time by the members of the Wiccoid Pan Paganites. Some feel quite comfortable using the Quaballistic system of the Judaic peoples. While others feel that this system is infused with thousands of years of patriarchy which taints it in the minds of those who do not desire to use it.There have been a number of languages that have been uncovered in the past century. Ogham, the Celtic written language is one choice, but using this system is problematic because the tradition it came from (as with many of that time) was oral and the Druids (teachers of the Ogham alphabet) were destroyed along with the Library at Tara by the overzelous St. Patrick. The information surviving to this day on the Ogham alphabet is mostly recreated by people who do the most with what they have...but the inner knowledge of the Ogham system has been lost. The runic language, however, was created by the Teutonic peoples of the Continent and Scandinavia was able to last as a magical system alive and intact because the Christian influence came at a later time and those people were not destroyed but rather were converted. The Teutonic Runic system was used by the Goths, the Visigoths, the Vandals and many other Teutonic Tribes of the era of the fall of the Roman Empire, the Norse/Vikings of the 10th through the 12th century, the Saxons who invaded the isle of Great Brittan, and many tribes of Teutons not known to history for their military expeditions. By this we see that the runic system was in use from approximately 500 c.e. until at least 1,200 c.e. and there are many examples of runic talismans from which to investigate. Other examples which aid in a good understanding of what the rune system was and how the magical archetypes were fused both in the minds of the Vitki (the name of a runic magician {Thorrson1}) and in the shapes of the runic staves are a wealth of writings from those who used the system (the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda) and from some of the Roman historians Tacitus, Virgil and others. These two main sources give an perspective to the study of the runic system. That of the participant and that of the observer. One who is interested in working with the any magical system is both of these a participant and an observer. There have been a number of revivals of the runic system in modern times. Both occured in Germany, the center of the Teutonic tribes. The first was an intellectual/magical revival in which a number of occultists worked with the system and added to the available knowledge though innovation and study of folklore and history. The second was a manipulation of the archetypes of the runes to control a population, popularly known as Nazi Germany. The Nazis used ideas, archetypes, and the pride of the Teutonic peoples to control them magically. This is not to say that the German people are no responsible for their actions is not the point I offer. Rather that some of the runes that were used by the Nazis will be seen in the runic system and that one should attempt to disinherit the short and horrid imposition from the beauty and power of Nature that is inherent in the symbols and has been for hundreds of years. The last of the runic revivals is the current one. The interest in the runes has increased vastly in the last ten years. One of the reasons is the writings of Edred Thorrson, and the institution by him of the Rune Guild. The books written by this man are heavily researched and relatively easy to read and follow. There are other writers on the runic system, but they are all different, using different runic alphabets, and seem to be a mish-mosh of the four different runic alphabets. The amount of work to be done on the runic system is great, but the rewards of working with the system are as great, enlivening, and exciting. There are four basic runic alphabets. The Elder Futhark, Younger Futhark, Anglo-Saxon Fothark, and the Frisian Futhark. The most complete of the forms is the Elder Futhark, of twenty-four staves. The other forms either are missing staves or have staves that are mixtures of two staves. Think of the scientific Table of the Elements. The form that has the greatest number of the most basic forms is the best place to start because you can make as many combination from these with great understanding of what forces are at work in the compilation. The Elder Futhark also is the oldest form known as being a complete alphabet. There are some earlier examples of the use of the runic symbols, but 500 c.e. is the earliest compiled, complete futhark. The studying this author has done on the runic system has been with the Elder Futhark, using Edred Thorrsons's books. They are a great beginning although being a bit on the patriarchal side for my taste. He offers a wealth of information which any user of magical formuli can combine and find further understanding of the runes. I recommend his books highly as a resource from which to do one's own research. I also recommend reading the Edda's and writings by Virgil, Tacitus and other Roman historian on the subject of German/Teuton society. The amount of information available about the runes for the pagan who is seeking a magical alphabet with which to scribe, cypher, or to expand consciousness is exceptional for an ancient lettering. Unlike the Quaballah it is not connected with the Judeo/Christian reality, but unfortunately is connected with patriarchy. The breakdown of the deities in the Teutonic/Norse tradition is reflective of the history that is shared by almost all of the religions in Europe. The earliest god/desses of the region were originally thought to be from the Lake Van in Anatolia (where modern day Turkey is). The pantheon of deities was known as the Vanic dieties. This was basically a Nature based religion common in Europe before the patriarchal era began. Many of the goddess and god names are recognizible as being a part of the Aesir. Goddesses like Freya, Iduna, Sif, Hella; and the god Frey are all names I had heard before I read my first book on runes. The group of deities usually attributed to the Norse/Teutonic people are the Aesir. The well known pantheon of Odhinn, Thor, Tyr, Loki, The Fenris Wolf, the Giants (thurs'), and many more. The accepted historical explanation of the change is the invasion of the Scandinavian areas by the Teutonic Tribes of the Continent. Many of the god/desses were eliminated from popular practice and relegated to less visible and less important realms of influence. The most powerful god/desses were married into the pantheon of the Aesir, Freya (meaning "Lady"), Hella, Iduna, Frigga (an alternate personality of Freya), Frey (meaning "Lord"), and others. The historical change from a Goddess based nature religion to a martial God based religion had very a very strong impact on the region. The change in concepts aided in the justification of the raiding and invading of various Teutonic tribes throughout the first and second centuries of the Common Era (C.E.). It also spread the runic system throughout Northern Europe and England. The negative side of this warlike attitude is the desire of many Pagans to use a system for the spreading of peace and of the healing of the Earth Mother. Much of the information in the texts available deal with the battles and conquests of the Teutons and their God/desses, not quite the place for a peace-loving pagan to find power and solace. However the main battle in the runic sagas (Eddas) is the battle between conscious action and non-conscious action. The Aesir and Vanir in alliance against the Thurses or forces of chaos. The law and chaos dealt with are not the social "law" and anarchy that most of the status-quo fear, but rather the law of the natural order and the chaos of non-natural or artificial destruction of the natural law for reasons with no wisdom. It seems to this author that the "battle" engaged in the mystical realm of the Norse/Teutonic multiverse is closely alligned with the battle that we face today against the wholesale corporate destruction of the ecology of the planet which I think we can all agree is a plan without wisdom. With a good deal of hard work and perseverance with the runic system, it seems that the Vanic God/desses can be reintegrated into the system. A rebalancing of the pantheon to allow for the modern view that the god and the goddess influence should be in perspective...even.Reprinted From the Winter Solstace Will and Word 1990 EVSEX IS PEACETRUE WILL NOT SLAVERYCONSCIOUSNESS IS STRENGTH

Psychic Visualization How Can It Improve Your Life

Psychic Visualization How Can It Improve Your Life
Control The Imagination Through Visualization

Have you ever heard the sayings, "You are what you think," or "Be careful what you think for your thoughts will become your reality?" The mind is a very powerful organ that can have a great deal of influence over our everyday behavior. Some people are able to harness and enhance this power through a mental agility practice known as visualization.

Visualization is a meditative practice used for many purposes. The psychiatry and wellness fields use visualization as a mental health tool that can also have physical implications. The psychic community also utilizes visualization, and for similar reasons. The mind is an amazing, yet complicated, device that has unlimited potential. Visualization taps into that potential and utilizes it for specific purposes.

In the most rudimentary of definitions, visualization is simply the ability to form a mental image in your mind. It is a subset of imagination. As children, our lives were based, at least in part, on our ability to imagine. Children have the amazing capability to create alternate existences for themselves, and then to step into those scenarios. Who among us didn't play house as a young girl and imagine ourselves as a parent; or drive trucks through the mud with us at the wheel? Imagination is a vital part of cognitive development. Unfortunately, our ability to imagine, and more importantly our willingness to engage that side of us, gets lost as we mature into a world that seems to necessitate adult sensibility over creativity. The ability to visualize our realities is a skill we are all born with. We simply lose it somewhere along the way.

Visualization is the process of tapping into and controlling the imagination; giving it a more focused, visual form. The brain doesn't differentiate between the real and the imagined. It is therefore possible to literally create your own reality. There are a myriad of motivational statements that are rooted in this belief, such as, "If you can see it, you can be it." That is the basis of psychic visualization. Beginners are often encouraged to start with an image, give it more detail, and then learn to control it with more influence.

As with any psychic ability, honing this skill requires discipline and persistence. The first step is developing a meditative routine that works for you. Find a quiet space and make it your own. Clear out any negative energy. It is recommended that you try to meditate at the same time each day in order to train both your mind and your spirits. The more of a routine you have, the easier it will be to develop this practice.

The mind is extremely powerful. Unfortunately, many people do not do enough to harness and embrace their mental abilities. Visualization and meditation go hand in hand. They are both excellent ways to slow down your mind, tap into your spiritual and mental powers, and change your reality. Remember, if you can see, it you can be it.

The Born Again White House Is On The Move

The Born Again White House Is On The Move
THE BORN AGAIN WHITE HOUSE IS ON THE MOVE JUST AS VENUS ENTERS SAGITTARIUS AND MERCURY MOVES INTO SCORPIO

I was lucky enough to catch the beatific sight of sparkling Venus joining the crescent Moon last night (10/6) hanging with a glow at sunset in the western sky. My first thought was that religious holidays of Ramadan and Rosh Hashanah have begun. If I had waited another 24 hours I would have seen that the "Evangelical Fanatics "had to get into the act too!

Now with revelations coming out tonight Oct.7th that in 2003, "President Bush told two high-ranking Palestinian officials that he had been told by God to invade Afghanistan and Iraq and then create a Palestinian state..."

You might say that it is only fair that those "Born-again Bible Bangers" out to have their say and Bush is famous for putting his prideful, ego-studded thoughts out to everyone (Pluto/Mercury in Leo in first) Yes with Pluto/Mercury/Venus in Leo all in the first house of personality, he is "Anything" but humble. We should remember that Ramadan is a "month of blessing" marked by prayer, fasting, and charity. Rosh Hashanah the Jewish New Year, the Day of Judgement, the Day of Remembrance, and the Day of Shofar Blowing. Most importantly Rosh Hashanah is a time that "Jews worldwide examine their past deeds and asks for forgiveness for their sins." Bush and his entourage of religious clones like Harriet Miers (nominee for the high court) are not about to ask forgiveness for creating terrible wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, a coup in Haiti and soon to move into Syria. Nor will they ask to be excused for creating these horrors by wounding this country deeply with an act of High Treason called 9/11.

With Venus entering Sagittarius today more emphais is put on religious partners and finding people of like belief. Well Harriet Miers is one of GW's choices of someone with the same moral persuasion(Corrupt)ready to bring the draft back and include women to fight along side men on a Holy Crusade. Mercury entering Scorpio on Saturday (10/8) will cause Bushie and Miers to refuse to mince words and really push their End Times agenda since Mercury will SQ both their power obsessed Pluto's soon.

Miers Infamous Conversion. In fact on Friday 10/7/05 another pronouncement "She is going to be on the bench. She'll be confirmed," Bush told reporters

Do you know Harriet? Per the NY Times

Harriet's Sun closely sextiles Bush's Moon and Jupiter - she adds creativity, optimism and her persuasive skills may even push him into some dangerously unchartered territory. Her Mars is closlely parallel Bush's Saturn another indication that she will foster the ongoing draconian legal agenda.

Most striking, notice the concentration of planets toward his 12th house : Venus/N Node/Saturn all in Cancer hitting his 12th house of hidden agendas - she acts as a combo of mommy and the priestess of feelings but as a major control freak. Normally those with N Node in Cancer/S Node Capriocn need to be in charge - take responsibilities way too seriously, are too rigid and have a tendency to over-manage not only their lives and but others' which probably includes GW. It should be remembered that the 12th is ruled by Neptune indicating an over abundance of deception. Miers Venus is SQ Bush's Neptune adding to greater confusion if she is ratified as justice.

She doesn't sound like the kind of person that GWB portrays: "people will see a fantastic woman who is honest, open, humble and capable of being a great Supreme Court judge."

Ms. Miers (who has N Node SQ her Neptune in Libra) is no stranger to both inhibition of emotions and emotional-level fogs and mists. N Node represents our destiny and how we use our innate gifts to go forward into the future. Those times of confusion will create some major consequences of her not being able to see clearly. In fact she has a distinct tendency to foster misjudgements! - NOT EXACTLY SUPREME COURT MATERIAL.
