Con estos tres sentidos en mi conciencia y las ganas de interactuar, la magia se presenta por s'i sola. No hace falta mucho m'as, pues el resto aparece s'olo. Supongo que cada uno lo hace a su estilo, pero yo no puedo rendir al 100% si no tengo mi cuerpo, mente y alma en armon'ia. Sentir que mi cuerpo est'a protegido me relajada y le permite a mi mente abrirse. Cuando mi cuerpo est'a relajado y mi mente concentrada, la espiritualidad se despierta. Cuando veo que todo est'a bien comienzo a pasear tranquilamente, observo el lugar y voy ofreciendo mis oraciones por toda la vida que habita en la Tierra. Procuro hacerlo con todo el Amor y el cari~no del que soy capaz, y lo proyecto a todas las criaturas. En pleno monte puedes encontrarte con lugares tel'uricos y m'agicos de lo m'as interesantes. A veces descubro "puertas" que me ayudan a conectar mejor con lo invisible, puertas que me permiten sentir el "otro mundo" con mayor facilidad. Son esos lugares naturales que tienen una gracia especial para favorecer los estados alterados de conciencia, y a poco que los percibas, la conexi'on aumenta. El telurismo se encarga de esta ciencia, y si te interesa el tema puedes investigar m'as. Si quiero hacer una alineaci'on con un 'arbol, me llevo las varillas de radiest'esia para conectar con el circle of light del 'arbol. Es un ejercicio de comuni'on con 'el, y siempre que lo hago la sensaci'on es de Amor Fraternal. Para hacerlo bien uso las varillas, pues me ayudan a sentir las capas del circle of light del 'arbol. El ejercicio finaliza con un Abrazo de Amor Mutuo entre el 'arbol y yo. Como el ejercicio s'olo se puede hacer con Perfecta Paz, Perfecta Confianza y Perfecto Amor, no puedo hacerlo corriendo, necesito mi tiempo. Despu'es de hacerlo la sensaci'on siempre es de bienestar y conexi'on. Puede parecer una tonter'ia, y visto desde fuera puedes pensar que se me ha ido la "pinza". Pero no. No estoy loco, estoy sintiendo la vida en pleno coraz'on. Todo es real, viviente, y est'a lleno de magia. Cuando estableces un v'inculo por primera vez con la naturaleza, un 'arbol, una piedra o lo que sea, descubres que todo eso que has o'ido de "abrazar a los 'arboles" es cierto. Y en 'ese momento empiezas a verlos con los ojos del Wiccano.Si siento que alg'un 'arbol se encuentra mal o necesita ayuda, le doy mi bendici'on como Sacerdote Wiccano. Lo toco con las manos, le doy las gracias por existir y le ofrezco luz y amor para que est'e mejor. Lo hago siempre en el Nombre del Dios y de la Diosa, pues es la mejor forma que conozco de hacerlo (al C'esar lo que es del C'esar, a la Diosa lo que es de la Diosa). Conforme voy paseando voy sintiendo el latido de la Tierra y no puedo evitar tocar las piedras que voy encontr'ando a mi paso. Cada una de ellas tiene su propia magia, y yo all'i soy un extrangero que desea ofrecer mi amistad a todo el que la acoja. Siempre que voy en el Nombre de la Diosa a un lugar m'agico soy bienvenido, y siempre que me gu'io por este sentimiento la Tierra responde. T'u puedes hacer lo mismo, puedes comulgar con la Naturaleza de forma sencilla, pues el 'unico requisito es Amar y Ofrecer tu energ'ia al Servicio de la Tierra.Cuando termino el paseo, doy las gracias al Esp'iritu Energ'etico del Lugar y a la Diosa Madre por haberme permitido sentir su magia. Afirmo la fraternidad de los seres en la paz ("En paz nos hemos encontrado...") y me despido del lugar con un sentido de amor y plenitud. Antes de irme ya lo hecho de menos y deseo que at the present nos volvamos a encontrar y s'e que at the present as'i ser'a. Te animo a que hagas lo mismo. Desde los ojos del Wiccano. My Journey To The Dalai Lama Ends For Now

Sanjay Austa for The Wall Street JournalThe majestic Dhauladhar mountains, and Dharamsala.I've tried more than once to write this concluding post for Blogging to Nirvana, but it hasn't been easy. We returned from Dharamsala, India - where we met the Dalai Lama and studied Buddhism - in late March. But it may as well have been last week.

I didn't want the journey, or this blog, to end.

Since coming back, my husband and I have looked into meditation retreats and classes that are in New York. At home, we hung up the Tibetan thangka paintings and prayer flags that we brought back with us. I wear my meditation beads that the Dalai Lama blessed. We play Tibetan chant music when we want to relax. And every now and then, I open a dresser drawer and touch the white kata scarves he blessed us with, as a reminder that we were really there.

When I set out, I asked myself, what is Buddhism? What would immersion in a Buddhist environment, and meeting the person many consider to be the living Buddha, teach me?

I learned that I could relate to Tibetan Buddhism far more easily than I expected, even though I was raised a Chan Buddhist. Tibetan Buddhism is highly structured and intricate, with many more levels and layers than I could fully understand, but I haven't felt overwhelmed by it so much as eager to learn more. For example, visiting the different temples in Dharamsala, it seemed the number of bodhisattvas (enlightened beings) just multiplied in Tibetan Buddhism; as if the religion spawned new offspring when it crossed over into Tibet, and the progeny flourished. I tracked down a book in a cramped Buddhist literature shop that explains all the different bodhisattvas and their multiple guises.

I witnessed the commitment to Buddhism by nuns and monks, and admired their ability to adhere to their faith day after day, after day. I also learned that a panoramic view on top of a hillside does wonders for the mind's ability to focus and meditate. Particularly when there are Himalayas included.

I was also reminded of the unexpected blessings and the unexpected compromises of travel.

I will never forget meeting the Dalai Lama. His smile, his voice, how he gestures with his arm, the touch of his hand in mine. For nearly one hour we discussed ethics, education, and why helping others helps yourself. Toward the end of our meeting, he emphasized the benefits of meditation.

But it was his gestures of compassion that have stayed with me the strongest - his gift of the scarf, his taking my hand as we exited the room, and his last words to me as we parted: "Bye! See you again."

The Dalai Lama's message is to train ourselves in warmheartedness, and it isn't just talk. He walks the walk, with the gentlest of gaits. After experiencing firsthand the depth of his compassion, cultivated over a lifetime of study, I am inspired to continue taking the first steps down the same path.

Introduction To Magick Choosing A Magickal Name

When one practices magick, and especially during ritual magick or casting a circle, one effectively takes on a new persona. Some magickal practitioners, though certainly not all, choose to recognize this 'alter ego' by taking on a new name, a name that is only used during magick, or among other magickal practitioners. This name is often called a magickal name.

SHOULD YOU CHOOSE A MAGICKAL NAME?

The decision to take a magickal name is intensely personal. Assuming a new name is a message to the Higher Self that a new facet of the personality has been embraced. Eventually, being called by this magickal name will assist the Higher Self to shift into a higher state of consciousness, thereby making it possible to work magick with greater ease.

Many magickal practitioners choose not to take a magickal name. They feel that it is not a good idea to make a distinction between their magickal selves and their mundane selves. The theory is that emphasizing this difference makes it more difficult for them to incorporate magick into their daily lives.

Each practitioner must decide for themselves if a magickal name is appropriate for them. Either choice is to be accepted and respected.

HOW TO SELECT A NAME FOR MAGICKAL PRACTICE

There are many different theories on how to select a magickal name. Some feel that a name should be chosen that reflects the Higher Self, its nature, and the qualities it embodies. Other will insist that a magickal name should be selected that describes the qualities one wishes to develop. The truth is, either method is appropriate

Most practitioners will use a combination of meditation, divination, and a great deal of research to choose a name. There are many possibilities when it comes to sources for magickal names. Some of these are:

Ancient mythology

* Herbs and flowers
* Animals
* Sounds
* Elements of nature
* Fantasy or science fiction novels
* Foreign languages
* Acronyms
* Star charts
* Magickal Symbols
* Other people and places

The source of a magickal name is not nearly as important as the feelings it generates.

Magickal names should be filled with power and magick. Don't be afraid to try different names until one truly fits. However, it can take some time to really connect to a name. Don't toss one aside too hastily, for fear of discarding one that might truly be perfect, especially when first starting out on a magickal path.
