Preparing My Crystal Grid

When I begin something I am truly passionate about, I go all out. I prepare and make sure everything is exactly how I feel it should be and when working with crystals, for me it has to align with my strong intention. I will be working with my Imbolc Dreamboard and have been taking my time in choosing just the right crystals to instill strong vibration to go along with my very strong intention (most important!) in developing strong, solid clarity and confidence within my self with a strong dose of never-ending self-love. To strengthen my Root Chakra but also stabilizing all my chakras and making sure I keep an open heart.

With the strength of the crystals chosen, I have also chosen stones that impart self-love, calming, balance and a gentleness for my intention. Although I want solid clarity, strength and confidence, I want it to match my basic nature of kindness, love and gentleness. I do not want to become hardened, jaded, cynical or *lose* what is in my basic nature. My intention is very direct and very specific which is very important when doing any kind of ritual work, spell work or any vibrational energy work. My affirmations that I will be using will be written down and placed underneath my center crystal.

I have been taking the time to completely cleanse and smudge my surroundings, making the environment conducive to allowing the energy of the crystals to fully flow. Clearing away clutter, dust, pet hair and all other dirt from the long winter that I feel for myself is crucial in wanting this crystal grid to work, or any other vibrational medicine or ritual to freely flow.

Here are some of the crystals I will be using with their meanings that will be placed on my first crystal grid. I still need to find a nice size piece of Quartz (Generator/Standing Point) to place in the middle as my Master Crystal (although Quartz is called the Master of all crystals as it amplifies all the crystals around it as well as balancing all Chakras-which I also have smaller quartz points to go around the Outer Grid)

First, for those readers who are new to crystal grids, or crystals in general here is the definition of a crystal grid given by my instructor, Hibiscus Moon at Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy-

"A Crystal Grid is a geometric pattern of energetically aligned stones charged by intention set in a sacred space for the purpose of manifesting a particular objective."-Hibiscus Moon"

Crystal I will be using for my Self-Confidence, Self-Love Crystal Grid:

Emerald-I have six raw tumbled Emerald stones. This is my birthstone. I originally wanted my Master Crystal to be Emerald but have soon found that emerald is one of the most expensive stones to purchase, even raw. The Emerald is called the *stone of successful love". It is a stone of inspiration and infinite patience. This stone is life-affirming and holds great integrity. Emerald ensures physical, emotional and mental equilibrium. Eliminates negativity and brings positive action. It is a stone of regeneration and recovery and can heal negative emotions.

Amethyst-One of the most popular of all stones. Amethyst is extremely powerful and protective with a high spiritual vibration. It guards against psychic attacks, transmuting energy into love. A natural tranquilizer, Amethyst blocks geopathic stress (environmental stress) and negative environment energies. It's serenity enhances higher states of consciousness and meditation. There is so much I could write about Amethyst but this is a solid definition. I have 10 small tumbled stones and will be using this in my grid. Plus I have a nice size Amethyst Cluster that I will be using toplace next to my Quartz Crystal in the center.

Pyrope Garnet- I have one nice size pyrope garnet and thinking of buying maybe 2 more tumbled garnet stones. I will first give the meaning of garnet and then the meaning for Pyrope Garnet.

Garnet's attributes are a powerfully energizing and regenerating stone that cleanses and re energizes the chakras. It revitalizes and purifies. Psychologically, garnets sharpen your perceptions of oneself and other people. It dissolves ingrained behavior patterns that are no longer serving you and bypasses resistance or self-induced unconscious sabotage. Mentally, garnet helps you let go of useless or old or obsolete ideas. Garnet opens up the heart and bestows confidence.

Pyrope Garnet-bestows vitality and charisma and promotes an excellent quality of life. Protects base and crown chakra aligning them with the subtle bodies, and linking the grounded-ness of the base with the wisdom of the crown. It is a very stabilizing stone.

Labradorite-I have one nice size piece of this stone and thinking of purchasing maybe 2 more. Among Labradorite's other attributes, Labradorite banishes fears and insecurities and the psychic debris of previous disappointments, including those experienced in a past life. It strengthens faith in the self and trust in the Universe. It is a useful stone in handling change, transition and imparting strength and as a stone of transformation, it also helps prepare the soul and body in the Ascension process.

Red Jasper- I have a nice size Red Jasper but am also thinking of purchasing maybe two more. Among the attributes of the Jasper in general, what is fitting for my crystal grid is that it imparts determination to all pursuits. It brings courage to get to grips with problems assertively, and encourages honesty with yourself.

Moonstone-My all-time favorite stone! I have ten moonstones and three Black Moonstones and all of them will be used in my crystal grid which will be placed accordingly (another blog post when I have the crystal grid set up) and the definition of Moonstones is so eloquently stated on Emily Gems website-

"Moonstone is a very personal stone. It is a reflection of the person who owns it. It does not add or detract, only shows how it is. This is why the moonstone is said to perceive that which "is". Moonstone is an excellent stone to use in meditation to understand oneself. Placing it in the moonlight of a moon reaching its fullness, not a full or waning moon, can revitalize it."-Emily Gems"

Hematite- I have ten tumbled Hematite stones and am using these for it's grounding attributes as well as it's confidence boosting abilities.. It supports and boosts self-esteem and survivability, enhances will power and reliability and imparts confidence.

These are the crystals I have so far, I am thinking of maybe adding Peridot, Citrine and Green Flourite to the mix. If not, I feel these crystals have within them what I seek. The center stone (Master) is going to be like I said, a Clear Quartz Crystal Generator or Standing Point and the wand I will be using to activate the crystal grid will be Selenite.

Selenite-Selenite will assist in judgement and insight. It clears confusion and aids in seeing the deeper picture. It brings about a conscious understanding of what has been occurring at the subconscious level. This is a powerful stabilizer and disperser of erratic emotions.

As I prepare I will continue to cleanse and purify my space and when I create my crystal grid I will post pictures of what it looks like as I am still deciding on what template or design this crystal grid will be and once it is all in place I will certainly share this all with you.

(CCC 1003) United with Christ by Baptism, believers already truly participate in the heavenly life of the risen Christ, but this life remains "hidden with Christ in God" (Col 3:3; cf. Phil 3:20). Nourished with his body in the Eucharist, we already belong to the Body of Christ. When we rise on the last day we "also will appear with him in glory" (Col 3:4). With what kind of body do they come?" You foolish man! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. And what you sow is not the body which is to be, but a bare kernel.... What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable.... The dead will be raised imperishable... For this perishable nature must put on the imperishable, and this mortal nature must put on immortality (1 Cor 15:35-37, 42, 52, 53).

Wormy Straw Men

Reading the literature of the New Apostolic Reformation requires more than a little bit of discernment. Many of the writers rely upon faulty reasoning in order to make their points.C. Peter Wagner, writing about "Kingdom Philanthropy" and his newly-invented "philanthropic apostles" (see past few Herescope posts on this topic), brought up the issue of "Responsible Distribution" concerning the distribution of wealth. Now, one might think that this topic would deal with the ethics of philanthropy. Instead, this is a treatise on self-esteem. Wagner wrote:"It is another thing, however, to distribute this wealth responsibly. Here is where philanthropy comes in. Aristotle said that anyone can give money away, but only a few can give it to the right person at the right time, to the right extent, for the right reason, and in the right way."Philanthropy" comes from two Greek words meaning "loving people." It is a Godly pursuit because God loves people. Those who are born again by the Holy Spirit reflect God's love for people in their thoughts and in their actions. They are not self-centered because they feel that their destiny is not so much to help themselves, but to help others. It is important to recognize up front that philanthropy and selfishness are opposites. IF WE ARE GOING TO MEET GOD'S STANDARDS FOR PHILANTHROPY, WE MUST FIRST PASS THE TEST OF SELFLESSNESS. LOVING OTHERS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN LOVING OURSELVES. [emphasis in original]Having said this, we must at the same time cultivate healthy, biblical attitudes toward ourselves. The Book of Romans (see Romans 12:1-2), tells us that if we are to do the good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God, two things are necessary. First, we must not think more highly of ourselves than we ought to think. That reflects what I just said about selflessness. But the second thing in doing God's will is to think soberly of ourselves. In other words, we must come to a positive, realistic, accurate self-evaluation. We must know who we are and who God desires us to be.Unfortunately, there has been some misguided teaching in some of our churches; teaching that we should denigrate ourselves in order to please God. Supposedly pious phrases like, "We are nothing" are common. ONE OF CHARLES WESLEY'S SONGS HAS US SINGING, "SUCH A WORM AS I." GOD DID NOT CREATE US TO BE NOTHING OR TO BE WORMS. He created us to be the head, not the tail (see Deuteronomy 28:13)." [emphasis added]This reference to "worms" is a jab at so-called "worm theology." Worm theology is an old straw man argument. But neo-evangelicals seized upon this exaggeration to demolish any remnants of true biblical theology about the nature of man. Lively But Not Deep

It is impossible to be a good teacher of anything without studying, and studying, and studying - and in most areas of knowledge that means reading, and reading, and reading. Ray Ortland gives us this from John Wesley writing to a pastor:

What has exceedingly hurt you in time past, nay, and I fear, to this day, is want of reading. I scarce ever knew a preacher who read so little. And perhaps, by neglecting it, you have lost the taste for it. Hence your talent in preaching does not increase. It is just the same as it was seven years ago. It is lively, but not deep; there is little variety; there is no compass of thought. Reading only can supply this, with meditation and daily prayer. You wrong yourself greatly by omitting this. You can never be a deep preacher without it, any more than a thorough Christian. Oh begin! Fix some part of every day for private exercises. You may acquire the taste which you have not; what is tedious at first will afterwards be pleasant. Whether you like it or no, read and pray daily. The Lurkers Among Us Or Someone Soul Is Listening

Today I am posting (with permission) a share on the silent lurkers among us at the Spiral Steps on-line support group. This is a non-cross talk meeting, not a chat group; something rare in cyberspace. This means that members do not comment directly on each other's shares or give any kind of advice. In this way they avoid what makes other boards so unsafe: favoritism, cliques, unwanted advice, bullying and trolls. The post speaks to the ways in which people read what we write and how it may impact their lives in ways we'll never know. As a result, I think it's relevant to earthwise bloggers and teachers, as well as to those in recovery.

I just wrote this note to a friend today:

Our teachers are sometimes not what we expect them to be, but the lessons are always there for us if we are brave enough to accept them as given.

As someone once said, the test comes first, the lesson afterwards. Survive the test, and you're well on the path... Here's to all those willing to learn the lesson.

The Lurkers Among Us

Someone pointed out the other day that a lot of people lurk at this board....Why shouldn't people lurk? They do it in real world meetings all the time. A meeting needs to be a safe place where people who need to share can, and those who need to listen, can. The point is acceptance, yes? and respecting that people here will work this program as best they can.

Or not...Some people may very well come to this board and expect others here share their experience, strength and hope without ever giving back. Maybe they don't want to take the trouble to learn how we do things here. Maybe they don't take any of this seriously at all. Maybe they haven't yet worked up the courage to tell their truth here. But do we know that?

What do we know?...In a real world meeting, I can see heads nodding in wry agreement. I can see people smiling or focusing on me with empathy. I can hear laughter, too, and get a hug after meeting. Here it's often silence. We've poured out our hearts to a circle of relative strangers, we've told secrets, shared things our best friends don't know, and sometimes all we get is a sense of release and respectful silence. Which is what bothered one of our members who recently said that they sometimes felt like they were sharing into a void. Ah...but are they?

A lurking member may read our share and light a candle or say a prayer for us. They may include us in their meditations that evening or simply keep us tucked in their hearts for a time. They may choose to send a private email to someone they relate to here or who they feel has a need and say "Thank you for sharing. I got a lot of that." or just, "Hang in there". None of this will ever come to light at the meeting itself.

A silent member may write about what we've said that day in their journal or inscribe it directly on their hearts. They may share our insights with a sponsor, group, friend or loved one (1) or they may take it and use it in their own life to great effect. What we say today may give them the courage to make needed changes tomorrow. We'll never know unless they choose to tell us.

This is, perhaps, the one article of faith we have here, we who are non-denominational as a group, and require no faith at all. It is this: we choose to believe that what we do here matters. It matters to us personally and it matters to people we will never meet, people who may be doing more along with us and for us then we will ever know.

We do what we do here for ourselves. We hold the mirror up to our life experience and look into that mirror as honestly as we can, trusting that fearless examination will free us from our delusions, guilt, pain and suffering. We share here to focus both our concentration and our consciousness on healing and empowerment. No one ever said it was easy; we said it was worth doing. It may help to keep in mind that what we do here helps other people, as well.

So today I am thinking about the silent ones among us. May they share or not, depending on their need. We will trust that they read this board with attention, respect, compassion, and open hearts. We will trust they recognize the gifts they are given from those who do share here and that they accept these gifts with gratitude and honor.

It Finally Spring

I absolutely LOVE that spring is here The weather is finally warm enough so that I can have the windows open in my house and get it all aired out. I am loving the smell of the fresh air in my home. It's also put me on quite the cleaning spree! I'm getting rid of lots of dust and cobwebs lol I've also been outside with the kids a LOT in the past week. I love taking Cole for walks and just watching and following him. He is adorable to watch as he explores everything and learns what everything is. It's just putting me in such a positive relaxed mood.I am still working on my studies in between as well. I got approval to work on the herbalist test 1. I am hoping to get started on that this afternoon or tomorrow. I ordered a couple of books from the bookstore. I ordered To Ride A Silver Broomstick by Silver Ravenwolf and Wicca: A guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham. I am excited to receive them. I also ordered the Pentacle Chest of Witchcraft. It's on backorder for a few weeks but I am very anxious to have a place to store the items I have been collecting.

This can be the case even as they harshly grind the people in their ministries under the heels of their personal preferences and demands.

Business guru Robert K. Greenleaf coined the term "servant-leadership" in 1970, but he himself said quite clearly that he was not a devout Christian. Following his lead, even egotistical leaders in corporate and political arenas today loudly claim to be loyal advocates of servant-leadership and often, by extrapolation, advocates of the lofty teaching of Jesus on this subject as well.

Added to the general confusion in society over the exact meaning of servant-leadership is the confusion of Christians over the matter-the very ones who ought to know better. There are in existence today a number of openly Christian consulting services that address corporate leaders on a regular basis specifically on the subject of servant-leadership-something that would be, if done in Jesus' way, very hard to sell in the corporate world.

But it is monumentally important for us as Christians to be able to tell the difference between what passes for servant-leadership in the world today and what Jesus is actually calling His followers to do. Those differences, after all, could hardly be more stark and clear.

How would the so-called servant-leader in the U.S. military, for example, respond if a subordinate decided not to salute him, or if a subordinate took his designated parking space, or switched dining rooms with him, or handed off work to him late on a Friday afternoon because he didn't want to deal with it himself, or mocked his orders, or received larger paychecks than his own?

These are the things that real servants might have to accommodate patiently on a daily basis. These are the kinds of things that the Lord Jesus endured with grace on a daily basis. Perhaps (but only perhaps!) it would be impossible for the military to operate under a true servant-leadership paradigm. We can all live with that hypothesis, I'm sure. What is dishonest, however, is for a person in "Christian" leadership to take umbrage with insubordination or contradiction while also claiming to be a follower of Jesus' model of servant-leadership.

When a "Gentile authority," as Jesus terms him, encounters a subordinate acting on a preference contrary to his own, he will presume and demand compliance with his wishes. The sincere Christian, on the other hand, even if he clearly possesses the upper hand, will wish to accommodate the preferences of the other person-"to serve, and to give his life." And for anyone who has ever "dared" to explore the limits of servant-leadership, biblically and honestly, there are just two such limits awaiting his attention.

The first is spelled out so simply by Jesus: "to give his life." The authentic follower of Jesus quits serving and giving to others, not when he has gained enough rank or the upper hand, but when his life is spent. Not spent, we are reminded, in the protection of his own dreams and preferences, but in the protection of those who look to him for an example of true love in a twisted and oppressive world.

While a little harder to recognize in any given moment, there is one other limit to a believer's servant-leadership: the wishes of a sovereign God who is the ultimate Master of every Christian life. Of course, this is where the NONservant-leader will look for an easy exit from true Christian service and giving. He will use claims of God's "calling" at every turn to press and excuse his own agenda. Still, for the genuine Christ-follower, when the calling to serve and to give one's life for others is truly embraced, the wishes of our great Master in a particular issue probably will not be all that difficult to get right.

When God's written Word, the Bible, has not specifically addressed a matter, questions of whose preferences I am protecting are most helpful (my own preferences or others'?, those of my favorites or of all equally?, those of the few or of the many?). The servant-leader doesn't usually have too much trouble "knowing"the answers to such questions. "Facing"them and "acting on" them takes a little more devotion to Jesus. Well, actually, a "lot" more.

QUESTION: How do you know if a pastor, board member, or potential "game-changer" in a Christian environment is living in compliance with Jesus' teaching on servant-leadership? ANSWER: By how that person responds when someone actually "treats"him like a servant (i.e. by rejecting his point of view, handing off work to him, taking his designated parking space, mocking his opinion, negatively impacting his finances, etc.).

Doctrines supported by reasoning unaided by revelation constitute metaphysics and fall in the domain of Philosophy, but doctrines based on revelation are to be excluded from philosophy, because revelation is supported to be a type of experience entirely different from the experiences that we as a matter of fact have. All metaphysical thinking is necessarily God-oriented. Here we need the criteria how far is it useful in dealing with matters in daily life. The teaching methods of philosophy used in institutions are not valuable as to understand the real nature of philosophy. So, here is a basic need of such healthy and positive attitude for philosophical inquiry, which is only concerned with the problems of human life and related to ordinary discourse of living.
