Wiccan Sabbats And Esbats Updated Fri Apr 22 2011 521 Pm Edt
This is where Witchcraft really enthralls me. Every six weeks or so, we celebrate another Sabbat, in accordance to the Turning  of the Wheel Of The Year (see the pic). Our holidays, or Sabbats, coincide with with the changing of the seasons and Solar events.  They are also known as the Eight High Holy Days. We'll dive into these in a little more detail in a moment...
The other type of gathering, or ritual that I want to address in this lens is the Esbat.  Where the Sabbats are often associated with The God and The Sun, the Esbats are performed in accordance to the phase of the moon and are deidcated to the Goddess.  The most common time to have an Esbat is when the moon is full.
I will try and keep this lens concise, as it would be very easy to make a lens for each of the Eight High Holy Days. If you are the type of person who enjoys holidays, such as myself, then you will enjoy this lens!
Read on, enjoy, and Blessed Be!
