Chapter 19. - Because the Apostle Paul Wrote to the Thessalonians Very nearly the Expression of Antichrist Which Shall Move the Day of the Lady
I see that I have to disregard many of the statements of the gospels and epistles about this concluding sensitivity, that this body may not become unlawfully long; but I can on no appraise disregard what the Apostle Paul says, in idiom to the Thessalonians, "We require you, brethren, by the coming of our Lady Jesus Christ,"etc.
No one can disbelieve that he wrote this of Antichrist and of the day of sensitivity, which he here and there in calls the day of the Lady, nor that he affirmed that this day necessitate not come unless he in advance came who is called the runaway -apostate, to wit, from the Lady God. And if this may place be assumed of all the profane, how much second of him? But it is debatable in what temple he shall sit, whether in that contamination of the temple which was built by Solomon, or in the Church; for the apostle would not wail the temple of any idol or demon the temple of God.
